Re: Hard Facts, Real Suppliers, and Lessons Learned

I wanted to share steps you can use to verify suppliers. This is taken from a question in the Ask it! forum on this site.
James thank you for the post. Now let's get down to business. First I want to thank you for your membership to MidwestGSM dated July 26, 2010. Second I am sure you did your homework on my business before your sign up so let me go through your likely steps.
You likely read through my posts on Alibaba and saw that I have been contributing since 2006. You may have even saw my Expert status in this Ask it! forum on Alibaba. Unlike a Gold Membership or Trust Pass you cannot purchase Expert status as you have to be invited by Alibaba based upon your longevity and factual posts on this site.
Next you could have visted one of the sites I have, www.midwestgsm.com or www.aimdirectverifies.com, and saw my Missouri business license number posted (LC1009862). Then you went to the Missouri Secretary of State's website, this can be found using a search, clicked on "Businesses", then "General Services", and finally on "Search for a business". You can then enter in the license number and find my information. Remember to search by "Charter number".
After checking my business registration you probably did a "Whois" search of my web domain names as stated earlier. This informtion would have matched and you would have seen that I am not located in China or that I use hidden registrations. Also note that the domains have been purchased for terms greater than one year. One year registrations is one way of identifying scammers. After all the best business policy is honesty. Being honest will always equal success!
You may have gone on to a pay service to find who owns my phone number (417-851-7834). Do not forget the +1 if you try to call. You would have seen that I have been the owner of this number since 2007 and that all of my details match.
Another piece would have been to visit the MidwestGSM site and find my CES registration badges. There is one for 2010 and recently I posted my badge for 2011. Again my contact details would have matched. By the way when I attend the CES one piece of material you must have to enter is a valid ID, such as my Missouri drivers license. Also my drivers license is posted on the MidwestGSM site. For those in the know this information can be obtained through state agencies. The information on your drivers license is public knowledge.
Finally, just give me a phone call and ask me some questions of how I can help you. If I cannot I will tell you I cannot and send you somewhere else for your answers. Again that you for your membership!
If you have read this and are curious you can follow me on twitter (midwestgsm) and YouTube (midwestgsm). Thank you and trade safely,
