I am really interested in purchasing items such as motorcycles to sell in the US but its all so confusing i really dont know where to start off as far as actually getting the items, I am not sure where my nearest port of discharge is, i live near boston im am also wondering if the correct paperwork will be included with the vehicles to properly register them and get titles for them in the US, i know the bikes are around already over here.

Any imput would be much appreciated Thanks!

Hi from Taunton MA.

Boston is your port    ( both air and sea ) and the customs office is also there

then your goods come in you will have to go to the cargo terminal , pay for the incoming balance on freight carrage fee  ( usually it is a small fee )  sign for your paper work

then you must take the documents to the formal entry office at the customs office pay any duty and get the papers stamped .

you then return to the cargo area and can pick up your goods .  last time it took me about 2 hours all together . ( Not counting driving time from the south shore)

Dan,

You do realise that to import any motorcycles that you intend to resell that:
1> They can;t be BRAND NAME motorcycles (there are distributorships for them and customs will want your paperwork from the distributor that says you are legally allowed to import motorcycles that he holds the distributorship for). Generally the distributor is the brand name owner for major companies (Kwaka/Honda/Suzuki/ Guzzi etc)

2> If it IS NOT a brand name motorcycle you realise you have to have it passed by all sorts of govt dept's BEFORE they will issue you with an import permit. (think THOUSANDS of $$ to get this done)

goodluck!

 Hi there,

So my question is? Lets say my friend open a small dealership / corporation which allows him to sell motorcylces.

If the supplier sells these items to him, this mean the supplier does not mind to push his product and have several reseller or distributors. So why not start to open a line of communication with the supplier. Open a business and see what permits he need to resell this items, I guess I am optimist but how many dealerships are out there doing what this gentleman wants to do.

I would ask or try.

Documentation, transportation and distribution we can help in the US. We have a good network.

Best rgds,

Omar
