With the unprecedented development of online business, integrity and trustfulness has become a major concern for online communities, while at the same time Internet fraud becomes a big headache for online business. As a result, more and more companies choose to become TrustPass members to increase their credibility and most businessmen wish to do business with TrustPass members to ensure safer trading compared with dealing with free members.  We have outlined some accustomed rules for both TrustPass members and online businessmen to work together to make TrustPass more trustworthy.

For TrustPass members: Better protect your account, better preserve your reputation

Recently, that our valued members are being targeted by hackers is of major concern to Alibaba.com. This not only harms your businesses, it also harms Alibaba's reputation. Here are some tips on how to prevent your account from being hacked.

1. Be sensitive to your personal information:  It is acknowledged that most cases of account theft are due to incautious disclosure of personal information, e.g. Member ID, password or email address. Please always keep that information in secrecy and make them as unique as possible.

2. Be alert to your postings: Upon activation of your TrustPass account, you should be responsible for every posting in your company’s name.  Regularly sign in to your account to have a check and update your postings on a weekly basis. If you find suspicious postings in your account or your member information is altered, change your password and contact Alibaba service team for help immdiately

3. Be cautious when clicking a link: Some fraud emails, which appear to be coming from Alibaba.com, contain suspicious links that may direct you to a page to submit your personal information. When you receive such emails, please pay extraordinary attention to the greetings (fraudulent emails always use non-personal greetings such as “Dear Alibaba member or a bogus name instead of your registered name), signature (emails from Alibaba will input your email address and Member ID at the bottom for verification), and content (fraudulent emails always emphasize or even threaten your account status). If you suspect any emails sent in the name of Alibaba.com, contact our service team for verification.

hello, I have an on line store and i have looked at many of the products from china and i would like to order them. What holds me back is the risky method of payment. I dont understand why many of your large companies do not engage in the use of mastercard, visa or pay pal or even debit card for that matter. This is a safe secure method of payment and if it were used buyers could spend more time shoping and less time weeding out the scammers. It will cost few pennies more but it would be worthed in the long run. I live in the US and western union is so out dated it is very rarly used, Bank transfers are used if it is an emergency and the company is well established and even then we try to avoid it. Look lets face it cash is great when it is cash and carry but this is the internet not a ma pop operation, we could be paying anybody. I think it is time Alibaba and it companies rethink their methond of payment and engage in credit card transactions. Mabe even make it the buyers choice and add a sir charge. This will make Alibaba a safer place for its customers and less assible to the scammers.

Great tips! Am sure needed by many TP members.

One from my country has to have some tips on keeping her and her company's integrity. She contacts me and expresses interest on my products, requests photos to send to her buyers, I oblige graciously, and then in an instant she uses my exclusive design photo of handpainted pashmina in her selling lead. That's integrity misunderstood I guess. I requested her to take out the photo and she is turning a blind ear.

Replying to [tjrd]:Hi, I think the bank transfer is a safe way. One must only transfer money in the direct company account. Before sending money you may verify the real company descriptions. I dont think so to involve any other third party in the business like alibaba team. The other safe way you can choose is to open letter of credit in your bank. Be safe. Good Luck[em19]
