Thank you to Elohim for his pretty much precise questioning of supplier's. Just a cross on any of that criteria should be a shout out of suspicion. Most of the emails I've received from potential supplier's, list website's on the bottom. A quick who is trace will give you a great reference point to start at, if the company is listed within the last year, treat with suspicion (new company's pop up all the time, so this itself can't be an alarm bell) however, if the company's website is listed for only one year, then alarm bells should ring and alarms are never good. Most genuine businesses will not register a domain for anything less than 5 years. Another is quick Google of the company or contact's name and "fraud"/"scam"/"fake" or "i hate (business name)" or "i got ripped by (company name)" or "f*** (company name)" [explicit language excluded for mods comfort-- but people who get upset do use profanity to explain their emotions]. These are just a couple of ways you can get customer, forum and website feedback about the company and it's reputation. These in no way guarantee or discredit a supplier but can give you a beginning perspective of the partner whom you may be going into business with. Effectively like most things to ensure your safety with transactions and products it comes down to doing a ton of examining, scrutinizing and research. I myself look at this way, for every dollar I'm planning to spend with a supplier I should be offset by at least an hour of research. Most people will look at this and think I'm nut's, well truth be known, I'd rather spend 25 days researching a potential lead and if required agent's fees and cost me nothing or next to nothing, then go on a whim and be down $1000,$2000, $5000 or even $50000. Honesty, integrity, respect and trust are not just words, their foundations of both strong relationships, friendships and partnerships.

For small orders, you can find some Chinese friends for help.
For large orders, you'd better to visit supplier factory.
Everywhere in the world has scam. We found it is less and less in China.
Quatech offer OEM metal and plastic products and mold with good offer.

You may use L/C payment term therefore the bank would guarantee the cooperation between both sides; but while there would be a commission for the bank this way is more preferrable for the order of high quantities.
