Importance of printed media in attracting buyers is falling?

I feel that less and less buyers will look for suppliers from printed media like trade magazines or journals.

 

What are your ideas?

As I am not so much a commercial agent (more a contract manufacturing agent), I am not totally sure, but have the impression you are right.

My very personal feeling is that I have seen way too much hype in advertising. If other people feel the same way, that would explain why they don't want to see ads, fliers, etc. anymore.

In fact, every few days I see boys going down the street, putting fliers in the mail boxes. A while later I see ladies coming out of their houses, dumping these fliers directly in the garbage, without even having a glimpse at the contents.

That tells me that certain kinds of printed advertising are not the way to go. Catalogs, manuals, etc. are ok, but not fliers.
