Hello

I am a UK buyer and I have just been issued with an invoice from my manufacturer. The overall cost is correct but manufacturer has listed the price per unit higher instead of listing the cost of shipping seperatley. Is it normal? Does the cost of shipping need to be listed seperatley for customs as duty is calculated including cost of shipping.

I would be grateful for any answers

Many thanks

Actually this could be a problem with customs if their is no declared price of shipment as shipping is used to calculate VAT.  This varies from country to country depending what the items are and where they are being imported from.  Your best bet is to check with a customs broker in your country to see if this is disadvantageous to you overall costs.

Replying to [Red7]:While you are checking with your broker, you may also ask your manufacturer to issue another invoice listing the value of goods and shipping freight cost separately.

The cost of shipping should be separated from the cost of goods, because the duty of custom is calculated on the cost of goods.
