How to verify the shipped goods as per agreed terms
Post 22 of 34

One more thing ...Remember to put the Letter " I " (insurance) in C & F .
This is for both Importer and Exporter . A safe and complete deal will be more productive

I strongly advise you to use SGS (Societé General de Surveyance) an independent Organisation, who will inspect the goods on substance, quality required, packing, quantity and all other details you agreed with supplier. Further more it is of great importance to mention and write down all the other details in your Terms of Payment - preferably in the Letter of Credit. All will be controlled by SGS, who has offices all over the world!

Good Luck!!

For Goods which are already readily available , but vary a lot in quality. Is it possible to get the container loaded in front of us , by choosing the bags. Like hand picking fruits. Then Transferring Money Account - Account Internet then and there. What would be the documents to collect from the seller , how to ensure smooth transaction. Best way for lowest charge simple money transfer after selecting the material.

You can make a visit to the Seller ducring the shipment. Honest Seller will always be glad to meet you. Always ask for SGS report of quality and weight. It is very helpfull for buyer and seller both.

Yes Escrow is good ...but the problem lies with their nominated couriers....who charge the fees that eats all the profit away, than its not worth importing the goods..tell me if anyone has found one of those courier services cheap compared against ocean/ sea freight. Think that alibaba has to consider the bulky goods importers as well. As my battle is getting the goods to my country....than using ocean freight  I have to take the risks of paying the supplier the deposit and balance before shippment

Better you inspect the goods before it shipped, because if you inspect the cargo at destination, firstly the cost will be very high, if you nominate a QC company inspect the goods before it ship out of China, the cost will be much lower then you inspect them at destinatioin, second, to inspect the cargo at destination, you may need several days, then storage and demurrage may occur.
