What can Alibaba do to develop a more trustworthy business marketplace for you?

Feedback system would be a great start. Although it would be open to abuse if it allowed free members to allow feedback, so strict membership/sign up should be enforced, again open to abuse.

carlosnz had some hard hitting words which although i sad to admit, its true. There is FAR TOO MUCH FRAUD going on. A simple search would reveal some 'companies' selling iphone and shoes and lots of branded products. Collabration with major Companies such as Nike to partner with alibaba, would help stamp out fraud. Nike can look up post of 'companies' selling their product, check their details and if they are not a official distributor then they can contact alibaba, who should remove their company+products from the site.

Trustpass and Goldmembers, hmm, 2years ago i would only trust these members, now it seems anyone can join up and be a goldmember if they give a few thousand to alibaba.com. Trustpass? verified by a 3rd party? I find this incredible hard to believe that someone had verified that it is a company, i have seen for my own eyes 'companies' on alibaba.com, through due diligence that they have fake registration details listed, yet they have managed to be trustpass members. It undermines the entires integerty of the trustpass member scheme. One which allows many new members who want to ytrade with the world to be constantly frauded daily and shy away from doing so as they have had a bad experience.

An escrow service would be ideal as it would levy protection towards the buyer more, although risk is still there, it does minimise it.

I DON'T Replying to [Admin]:

BUT I AM REPLYING TO "Darth Vader [NO]"

My Norwegian friend, that is good suggestion, but Ali Baba do not CARE. Everyone of us get everyday more than enough letter from scammers and, even if we complain to Ali Baba, they promise to stop scammers, but they just change name and continue same thing as before. Also, Ali Baba, how it is set up now, it is biggest Chinese "scammer".

a proposed solution to stop scamming....
ALIBABA.com is becoming a media for scammers , the stories of scamming are increasing day by day.......and we have realized that ALIBABA.com doesnt cares about us losing our money , the scammers purchase their cheap trustpass and gold supplier membership and are ready to scam our hard earned money........here i come up with a proposed solution for this problem and would need a comment from you all............any corrections suggestions are most welcome by my dear friends on this forum......

ALIBABA should appoint verified and authenticated ALIBABA inspectors , throughout the world , one inspecter from a small country , and two or more inspectors for big countries depending upon the area.

when ever alibaba.com recieves a request for a trustpass or gold supplier membership , the inspector from that country should visit the company's premises check for everything, their contact details, regesteration certificates , the range of products they deal in and every necessetity fullfilled to prove them to be a legimate company.
and provide all set of evidences to alibaba.com, which should be available on the company profile of the member as an obligation.PHOTOS OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED AND THEIR OFFICE ALONG WITH THEIR NATIONAL IDz are a must.....but VERIFIED.!!

in this way no scammer would be able to obtain a trustpass on this site , as scammers use fake adresses, locations and information, this information should be pre-inquired.! and inspected!!!!.

ALIBABA.com should undergo an agreement with the inspectors that all the information that the inspectors provide as verified by them, IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSPECTOR , and they would be sued legally if any evidence they provide turns out to be false. the name of the inspector should be listed on the company's profile along with the contact information so that the buyer may contact the inspector to make any inquiry about the supplier that was inspected by the prescribed inspector.

the inspectors would be a part of alibaba staff, and as we all know that aliba would not take any responsibilities on itself, we can put the responsibility on the inspector with a little legal work.

in this way, no false company with fake IDs
fake phone numbers , fake locations would gain access to gold membership and trust pases.

the membership fee may be raised but verification of the company is a must.

ALIBABA claims to verify info. by third parties, if they do it....how are these scammers getting listed as gold members on alibaba?

if you have any better idea , please share it with us....so we can make this place a safe zone.

if you all have any suggesstions........please let me know
i m a human can make mistakes, i'l be grateful to you all for any of your comments and suggestions to solve this matter.......

thank you

There is only one way for Alibaba to make China honest, a feedback system. We're all very tired of giving money away for no products. It happened to me once, but never again, work hard on your research and you'll find that China is not the only place to locate products to sale. Never and I mean "NEVER" use Western Union or T/T as a means of payment, as you know, E**Y also owns Paypal and it's the ONLY way to stay protected for a purchase. Hope this helps anyone that may think about buying anything from China......

Most companies on these B2B websites are scam artist. They have fake addresses and phone numbers. Check to see if their phone and fax number are the same, what's up with that. If they give you a cell phone number, think about this. Do you know of any companies with 50 to 100 employee's and the only way to contact them is through the CEO's cell phone. Why is the CEO of a company the contact person, think about it.
Google one of these big successfull companies names and phone numbers. You'll find that they only exist on the B2B websites, and their phone number is invalid or belongs to some little old lady.
If their contact information is false, report them to the B2B website owners and have them removed, before them scam someone else. I've had about 10 companies remove in the past 3 weeks.
Ask these B2B website owner to implement a rating system like Ebay. Stop the Scammers[em1]

I agree about feedback, I think this is the only way to go. I also feel the penalties for fraud should be severe.
