Replying to [Admin]: Start using Paypal payment or build one like it and users feedback like eBay. These way, buyers will feel safe spending their money on the right products and sellers will have the advantages on buyers positive feedback.
In short, build system like eBay and Paypal combination.

Where do we start???????

1. Alibaba, it is a known fact that you make thousands of dollars from your site..... Gold and Trustpass members........why dont you invest some of this money where it should go (Looking after the buyers and weeding out the rogues)

2. Who is in charge of FRAUD in the company?? These people should all be fired........you can give me the job with a team of 30 and I will have this whole site and its rogue members cleaned up......

3. What are you doing about the scammers?? It should only take the push of a Delete Button to get rid of them, but before you do that, each member must go to the local law enforcement with documents for their COMPLETE details before they join you. This may seem drastic, but at least you will give the rest of the world some confidence. Before you delete the scammers, inform the local authority........it will be a simple phone call.

4. Why dont you make yourselves liable for any rogue trades?? This will give everyone confidence that you are taking the bull by th horns! This will make your process tighten up so much that it will be like fort knox. Yes, you will lose a lot of members, but you will gain trust of the international world and you will do quality trade!

5. Look after your customer..........NOT just make money! Your customers are not Gold and Trustpass members......your customer are US..........without us buying products from your members, your members are nothing.......we have the money, not them!

6. Who are your field agents wiping out fraud? Do they exist? Why do we have the same old problems time and time again??? Is it all about the MONEY???

7. Be careful of sitting happy for now..........someone is thinking of making the trading world more secure in china without bribes, fraud or cheating........they will overtake you in an instant.......if you dont believe me, see how big MySpace and YouTube got in 3 years.

8. Have ratings for your sellers...........every other site in the world does this........ if you dont, it shows that you are aware that there are some really crap suppliers out there.......see my note on step 7.

9. Take charge of your business.......to be honest, I dont think you are running it anymore........it is being run by suppliers.......and alot of them are paying you dirty money

10. Sleep well at night.........when you do this, you know that you are an honest business........if you are waking up and 2am in the morning with sweat, you know something is wrong

11. Respect your mother!

Yeh this website is the king of giving a sense of false security and then you get totally "raped" by gold suppliers.

LETS BAN WESTERN UNION AND T/T!!!

Alibaba should have an escrow service of its own or make it madatory that a safe payment method is used like paypal or escrow.

Replying to [Admin]: i agree with the online feedback system in this page, they already got forums but not personal page feedback system, it would also be good if neither alibaba nor the company could touch those feedbacks

The sign up process should involve some level of authentication. It is too easy to for a scammer to misrepresent themselves on Alibaba. There are many variables that can be checked, such as whether the user has a website, whether the user’s email address is linked to the user’s website, whether the user’s address can be found on a third party telephone directory site etc. Brainstorm different elements to validate a user, weight the elements and develop some form of a score. It seems you have many employees that could scour the web to find information about prospective Alibaba users.

Integrate free and fee based authentication tools into your system. Many tools are available to authenticate US businesses for free. Put a ‘verify’ button next to business names. I often recommend services such as www.switchboard.com, www.smartbusinessreports.com, www.peoplefinder.com, and www.dnb.com; all of which offer free third party authentication of US businesses. I also recommend users access http://earth.google.com/ and download the free software to identify the type of building associated with a user’s address.

Community feed back/content is very valuable. The feedback system used by eBay is a great way for users to share business experience. However, you should keep the raters identity private, because many companies will not want competitors to know with whom they do business.

Offer users the ability to self-authenticate their own businesses through one of the business credit reporting companies. For example, if a company wants to prove their trustworthiness, the business can pay for their own D&B or Experian Business Credit Report to be posted for all to see. Both of these business credit reporting companies offer global credit reports.

I’ve developed many business and consumer information services and I see Alibaba as a terrific place to establish a portal of useful B2B services. In addition to trustworthiness services, I see much room for developing sales pipeline services too. Many Alibaba customers ask me why they never hear from customers once they send a quote and/or samples. I tell them that Alibaba is currently a marketing engine, and that they still need to implement an actual sales process. It would be nice if Alibaba would implement a pipeline process for customers.

The concept of trustpass and gold member needs to be changed. Let companies register and pay their fee for being registered and authenticated. Then everyone will know if this is a regitered user orm a free user. Let the status of gold supplier or trustpass member be based on feedback points. After reaching a particular number of minumum required points due to positive feedback, their status can be elevated. Also limit the scoring to one per user. Also weight the scores depending on whether they are registered or not. I know people will not like this idea but it limits the potential scmamrers oosting their rating by flooding positive responses through free memberships.

That is my idea...
