surely Alibaba could be queried for misrepresentation??????????
as punters like us are believing in and 'buying' in to a system where customers dont get what they expect - yet alibaba profits from the sale of trustpass and gold pass membership - verification by a 3rd party being used as an indemnity......????

Replying to [Admin]:An inforcable feedback system. This is especially important regarding suppliers. Somehow scammers are using the ID of gold and trusspass members. When you look at the profile all it says is they have been verified by a 3rd party. That tells me nothing. If I can look at the past experiences of others it will make them more trustworthy. This may make it difficult for new businesses but, it will force them to fulfill their orders. You may have to start small but you can build credibiity. That may mean selling single units instead of MOQ of 5, 10 or more. You will probably make more sales because many businesses are gun shy and afraid to send money to someone they don't know. I don't want to use 4 letter words but, E**y rates on communication, timely delivery, and quality, as well as the cost of the items. Also Alibaba has to have some power to enforce the rules. Any honest business will be happy to comply to this.

It will be good if Alibaba can track IP addresses. Each computer will have a unique IP address. Once scammers being reported, they can be banned forever. Not too sure if there is a way to change IP address on our computer but if it cannot be done, then the likelihood that scammers would want to change a computer is very minimal.
If they proceed to cybercafe, then banned the IP address as well once reported. Genuine businessman will only access website from office or labtops since wireless technology is on the mobile.
But it takes a lot of work to implement this system.

Alibaba could be more active vigilant checks on their Gold suppliers and trusted members. Delete unrelated sales leads, etc.
I have do a search on "Golf ball", and surprised to find that some "Golf Suppliers" are putting non related picture/items in the selling leads. I can find picture of a lady with bikini which says they are selling golf ball.![[em11]](http://img.alibaba.com/images/eng/style/icon/emoticons_sweat.gif)
Also for pictures of lap top, Golf club, etc.

To put it short, they are flooding the database with junks.

Because if you really want to make Alibaba a fair, honest business place , then you would lose your customers sometimes, who is your customers- Chinese factories. Whoever trustful or not trustful, if they are rich enough to pay member fee, then they are golden.
Many scammers & fraud also start to use Alibaba as their tool to get more clients, if they want to pay you member fee, will you refuse them to become a gold supplier?
So my suggestion is Alibaba should have one team, especially deal in scammers & fraud .
Any client who met scammers through Alibaba, they would report you immediately, then you would take action soon, firstly post this companys name on Alibaba, give warn & cancel their name of gold supplier.
If you could do these, no fraud company dare to near to Alibaba, and Alibaba also will be more famous for its justice!

Replying to [Admin]: Offer an on-line escrow service based on tier membership for buyers. Then companies could be rated on shipping time and quality of products. In this way Alibaba could help eliminate those companies whose sole purpose is to scam buyers. Alibaba could also slightly lower the membership fee's for those companies willing to accept payment by escrow and or significatly raise the memberships of those companies unwilling to accept it as a form of payment. Knowing that they will not be paid until customer has had a chance to inspect the goods at their business location. Free members would stay the same and pay the higher fee's on escrow services.
This serves two purposes (1) security for buyers and (2) an added marketability for suppliers products because of positive feedback.
This would address all of the concerns of the posters to this point.
