Hi Tony
In Europe like UK petrol vehciles that are used on the public roads must pass tests for gas emissions, when you buy a car in car and its is 3 years old you need to pass a MOT, this is a certificate that the vehicle is safe to be used on the road, and you need to get this every year, without it, you can not get road tax for your vehicle, and one of the tests to to check the emissions from the engine, by inserting the test probe in the back of the exhauts pipe.
If the reading if too high, you fail the test and need to get the fixed, the carb may need to be adjusted, engines problems,
So now we have the EEC and COC certificates, and these are given to many products in China, Atv, scooters, karts, bikes, and common to have a 4 stroke engine.
The EEC certificate means that these vehicles has been tested to the standards to be used on most euro roads,
As we see not all vehciles have the same EEC tests, EEC1, EEC2, EEC3, so some countries will be more keen than others.
Like in malta they want the COC not the EEC, and UK want the EEC.
When the vehcile is in UK will not mean you can just take on the roads and ride it, MMMmm so you need to apply to get the vehcile on the road, reg plate, tax and to take to you local testing station to get the stamp needed, if the gas emissions are high or the vehcile is not to the EEC standard, the vehicle can not be used on the road, so classed as off road.
So always well to get the right supplier for these vehciles, and to use one that as had these vehicles tested in a euro country and are passed by the transport testing station.
Cheers Tony, we talk soon
