I am currently working with several different individuals and looking to purchase their products (Abercrombie, Burberry etc). They are located in China and I have heard from a close friend that a lot of Brand Name products of this kind are reproduced and then sold as "Authentic". Has anyone had any bad (or good) experiences in regards to this or heard anything that may indicate this is happening. If this is true, how can a buyer avoid this? I'd appreciate any information that you are able to provide. Thank you!!

What you probably do not understand Cecilia unlike your country the United States is tuff on counterfited, fake goods. It's either the reall stuff or none at all. It's not worth going to jail for trying to make a quick buck! But if the risks out weight the price of freedom then by all means do what you must do.

That's right, Logico's right for 100%, no surprise Asian region packed with counterfeit, but hey, if you started selling that crap in States or Europe you'd be prosecuted quite severely so no point to get involved wit it at all.
PS.2 Logico, more then likely thats countrfeit stuff, most of brand makes, like Nike, reebok, don't let their asian manufacturers to distribute their products unless those products of lower quality or defected.

Just adding to what everyone said, if you want the real product such as Abercrombie, Burberry, you need to go directly to the company or an authorized distrubutor and not the factory. The factory has no right to sell you a brand name product. They are doing OEM business and selling branded products to other people is illegal.

Trust me on this...I've been cheated badly a few times by China manufacturers claiming to sell authentic branded products. Don't trust them unless they are really the authorized dealers.
Its not worth to waste a few thousands USD only to have it being seized by the Customs Authority and being slapped by a hefty fine for that supplier's fraud items.
You would also lose your money, cuz from my experience, these people NEVER RETURN your money back and some has the cheek to dare you to make a police report about them.

Replying to [Stacey]:If you are looking for branded clothing I would stay away from Eastern suppliers. They all claim their mechandise is authentic when its not and they seem to have no idea what the word refund is even if it their fault.
If you notice Abercombie clothing is only sold in abercombie stores, their distributors don't supply any other companies with items. If you are buying abercrombie clothing that is not defected or used from anywhere else its fake.

Are you really from Hong Kong Cecilia? No offend to mainland suppliers, but your speak more like a mainland manufacturer than a Hongkie.
Please don't give people the impression that Hongkies sell fake stuff like crazy. I admit that it does happen, but not a lot. I've never heard or known any Hongkie buying a fake cell phone or game console. Because here in Hong Kong people would actually laugh at you if you carry a fake cell phone around or wear fake Nike's...

Oh yeah, same goes for fake branded clothing and hangbags as well.

Replying to [Stacey]:Forget it- if you like copyright infringement and some real fines then go for it.
Really- the stuff is all over the streets. If this is a purchase for you have fun for a business be careful - being fined is no fun not to mention you are blacklisted with you business and passport.
