FREE SAMPLES
Post 1 of 11

Does is really work to send free samples, it can become rather costly if the seller is carrying all the costs. I also sometimes get the idea people want free sample for the sake of free samples, because no matter what you try you never hear from them again.

It would be helpful if you do read some of the ebooks that this portal gives free and also some policy on free samples.

Free samples are okay when you can follow up and get the response. what use is sending a sample to someone you cannot trace later. sampling in my days of Promotion and marketing was to increase the market base and get the feedback. which is literally no existant in the cyber world.

There are free sample hunters afterlall who would not like something free. You would send a sample to someone who would potetially trade in the product, Any interested party would have a fair knowledge if the product and ask questions about it technically before he mentions the "S" word.

Sending a sample is time consumin and if the buyer is willing to pay shipping and mailing cost then it would be okay.

I agree the buyer should be expected to pay somerhing towards the cost of packing and freight, however, not if the transportation cost is extortionatr! Example: unit price US$5 = 6, transportation cost for FREE?? Sample = US$200! You know who I am talking about, saffron spice seller India! It's ture that the clients only want the sample ,then disappear. My problem is not the sample but the freight. My factory is producing disposable glove machine and bag making machine,so the bags and plastic glove we always give my clients free. But the freight always cost us too much if the client don't pay it[em8]

A free sample can be counted for marketing fee. For international trade, buyers always want to see your samples first before they decide to visit your place or play a trial order. My company usually does so; however, the postage is for the receivers/buyers. With this way, we can know who is the trust buyer .[em17]

Free sample for NEW customer?? On whether to bill the customer on the sample and delivery charges??

IMO depends.
If the sample is cheap and light i dun mind sending them.
But if the sample cost is high but light weight I will ask the customer to pay for the sample but we will be covering the delivery charges or the other way round if the sample is cheap but bulky.
But if the sample is expensive and bulky, we will advise the customer to pays for sample at a discount price and the delivery charges. If they have other thoughts send them a copy of your product catelogde With invitation to visit your plant or company.
