A UK guy reported a case to me last night, saying their company has  just lost nearly 65000 GBP owing to the bad quality of their items ordered from China last year. They are now seeking legal assistance from us in China and trying to lodge a lawsuit against their supplier.

This guy is my old friend on MSN and I once asked them to book a QC Inspection service from a third-party business service company before delivery in China this Jan. However, they just ignored my advice at that time and now they have to face a legal action in China in order to get some refunds. They did not sign any formal Purchase Contract with the supplier (only a simply Proforma Invoice) this time, also they did not have a third-party QC Inspection service from China. I do not think they can win this lawsuit in China this time.

I cannot understand that why they did not have any QC inspection service before delivery as their order is big enough and a QC Inspection is only around 150 USD per man day in China.

It's really a pity that they lost too much this time, but it's a great lesson for other big buyers in China. Do not forget to sign a formal Purchase Contract and book a third-party QC Inspection service if your order is large enough at anywhere on the globe.

In my opinions, safety, quality, price and after-sale service play the same important role in any international business worldwide.  Please feel free to ask me for any question regarding 'doing business in China'.

check www.sgs.com and look for the office near the factory.

It is true that inspecting the consignment is prudent but it cannot always be done. take my example, I imported shoes from Yiwu Jiabin Import and Export company (I am saying this for the umpteenth time- hoping no one deals with them). They are traders not manufacturers. This means that SGS would have to inspect each and every shoe i.e 100% inspection which is impracticable.  Long story short, they sent me nonsense that if I am lucky I can pluck of the sole and sell it. The rest of the shoe merely disintergrates,  among other grievances.

So if you are dealing with a trader tough luck. Trouble with dealing with a manufacturer is that you have to buy a minimum number of shoes per design per size. Again tough luck if your consumers don't like the shoes.

So either way,  'your damned if don't, your damned if you'

I guess you should request for a sample of each and every item you are buying and thoroughly analyse it. Thats what I am trying with handbags [em28]

then pray very very hard, that the items are almost, nearly approximately what you require. fingers crossed......

Dear Sir,

I'm considering buying a camera for my personal use. I found a gold suuplier at alibaba.com. However, the camera's price is just too good to be true. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who can verify the ligitimacy of the company. How do I go from here?

Regards,

Layla

It's a simple human trait that scammers prey upon it's called GREED. They simply listen to what they want to hear and the scammer is more then willing to lead them down the path until they get the big order and PooF gone.

Hi everybody...

Literally , its true, and gives us a hope to get asured quality product, if Third party inspection is there,,,,,,,,,, But...... Do the  Third party inspection people are qualified, experirenced, and knowledgeable about the product to check all key points???????..... here lies the main question... and is it really possible that all Third party inspection organisation should have expeirence in all products , that are made in china.....I dont think its possible...... Even though if we engage a third party inspection, what they will do is , they can count number of pieces loaded, or they may check at random a few pieces ( that too if the company is professional ).. ..  But this will not help incase of some of the products,

The remeady is to acertain the capability of the supplier by your own self is safe. and you should acertain that the supplier is TRUSTABLE.  ......but the fact is .....all this process, whether,  acertaining yourself or Third party inspection,  is not FOOL PROOF.

so you have to be behind supplier, in every step, getting samples, at each step.....this will cause little expenditure to couurier the samples, but atleast you can be carefull of what product quality you will get in the next lot.

Yes, before purchasing any material from Chinese market, we must know the quality for the material.
