A UK guy reported a case to me last night, saying their company has just lost nearly 65000 GBP owing to the bad quality of their items ordered from China last year. They are now seeking legal assistance from us in China and trying to lodge a lawsuit against their supplier.
This guy is my old friend on MSN and I once asked them to book a QC Inspection service from a third-party business service company before delivery in China this Jan. However, they just ignored my advice at that time and now they have to face a legal action in China in order to get some refunds. They did not sign any formal Purchase Contract with the supplier (only a simply Proforma Invoice) this time, also they did not have a third-party QC Inspection service from China. I do not think they can win this lawsuit in China this time.
I cannot understand that why they did not have any QC inspection service before delivery as their order is big enough and a QC Inspection is only around 150 USD per man day in China.
It's really a pity that they lost too much this time, but it's a great lesson for other big buyers in China. Do not forget to sign a formal Purchase Contract and book a third-party QC Inspection service if your order is large enough at anywhere on the globe.
In my opinions, safety, quality, price and after-sale service play the same important role in any international business worldwide. Please feel free to ask me for any question regarding 'doing business in China'.

some buyers don't think it is necessary to have an QC inspection system until they receive the shipment and find quality problems.
They rely on the factory's QC system itself. And they also want to save some money. As hiring QC inspector also share their profits.
But in my view, although the factory has their QC system (most of the factory said that), but we don't know how they make the quality control .It is far from enough.
For example, we help the buyers to test the car mp3/4 and car dvd players. We find some of them have quality problems after test one by one, we find this or that problem. Although the supplier insisted they do have the products inspected in the factory.
So QC inspection is the important part of foreign purchases!
I do source from China from time to time and may be more often later. I am horrified by your report! How can I get third party certify service? Are they professional enough? If they fail their job and cause financial damage to our company, how can we deal with such a case? look forward to your insight.

I think it is useful of the third-party to help you to make a contract with the suppliers, and write the quality insurance article in the contract. Before deliery, QC inspection just can find some easy problems, if some problems happen during the products using, also you should have the right to ask for insurance.
Of course, a third-party QC is very important in the international business.

HI Every one:
As you mentioned some china factories are not so good. Some of them are not so professional although they wand to build good product. And some of them don't emphasize the quality. So the inspection service (QC service) from the third pary is very necessary.as you know they can find the problems that factory can not find .Furthermore the inspection charge is cheap .
I have many years inspection(QC) experiences, ever worked for UL,VDE and certified as lead auditor by SGS. If evreybody here needs inspection service I'm very glad to inspect your goods, evaluate the suppliers. Our service is absolutely professional, impartial and customer-oriented.
Hope to hear from you and with my best regards
