I think people who do international trade business shoud know what is bill of lading ,that is basic knowledge

sure, ocean bill of lading is the sign of cargo possessing right.

If we quote customer with FOB price,then the payment terms is 30% in advance, 70% paid as copy of B/L,  so the bill of lading is important for you.

Please have a look at wiki, like "amercn" said. However, this must be essential knowledge when doing international trade!!

It is so basic document of overseas trading. Also it is very important. It shows who is the owner of the consignment.
