Exporter must put the letter of "THE GOODS ARE SAMPLES. NO COMMERCIAL VALUE" onto Proforma Invoice. This letter will bypass IEC Code needful.

Hello there,

Actually its fairly easy, all you need to do is to get a got forwarding agent, they have a Import Export number, you can ask them to import the goods for you on their behalf, might cost a little more, but thats the best way to by pass the IEC.

Once again with small samples in low value you can just tell the chinese supplier to write in now value, but if the samples are of good value, the custome will get suspious and will stop the goods, so as to avoid a fine, its best you have a good forwarder.

Other then the import-export number is aquired fairly easy, for which you need firstly the income tax number, basically the also known as pan-card. This will take about 7 days, after that the IEC number only takes 2-3 days, depending of the purpose of impor.

All in all this whole procedure will cost you around Rs. 10.000-20.000, which is not to much of a money considering how much headache it will safe you.

Just go to your lokal CA, he knows how to tackle everything.

Hope that helps you.

peace
