eBayer's Guide to Alibaba
Post 1 of 8
1. If your looking for Cheap Authentic Mobile Phones, Cheap Game Consoles, Cheap Laptops. I think you've come in the wrong place. There is no such things as Too Good to be True price for this thing. Most of people on eBay selling low low price maybe a victim of scam in the internet since most of eBayers now deal with dropshipping.
2. There are some dropshipping, light bulk, wholesaler that are approved by eBay, this is advisable... though membership to this services are not free.
3. Deal with Company that you can verify, Alibaba is a home of millions thieves so be sure before you make a deal with them. Find a way to verify them.
4. Most Scam will keep repeating that their price are good! this is the way they distract your doubts. Real company mostly focus on product quality if you are dealing with them, NOT the PRICE <<< NOTE: After I post this, some scam may read this so they might change the way they sell.
5. If you find they are unprofessional, this is a sign of risk, If you find them that they are rushing you to buy their product, beware. Online Marketing is not that simple. Real Online Marketeer should even send you some brochure of their product directly to your home. Real Online Marketing promoting all of their product not just the product your interested in. They should have all resources you need. Certification, Samples... they must be prepared to whatever you need. They should not make an Alibi. You are the customer. If they are real they will do their best to make you us one of their client. Don't trust this line > "We want to build a long term relationship with you".

Replying to [anti-scam]:Oh Anti-Scam I also want to add this in your brochure thing. Most companies have a printed copy of their company profile. Usually like a brochure that gives some businessman or clients some details about their company. If you really want to deal with them, ask them to send you this through mail. Tell them they should put their Company address and you will mail them back what interested you or even an agreement form. and attach some letters. This help you verify they exist, If they really receive this they should contact you with anything you put in your mail, they should call you on your phone. They should fill the agreement form and send back the copy. This is better than what they called SAMPLE ORDER, usually they use the Sample Order for Scamming. I don't think mailing some papers would be expensive.

Replying to [anti-scam]: How many Power Sellers do you know?
1. Power sellers do not place orders with dropshippers theres no profit margin in it. They buy direct from distributors and VAR's
2. Wholesaler approved by Ebay? Where? Drop Shipper and a company that provides names to resellers but they have not one distributor on their lists. Light Bulk is not drop shipping. It means small quanity buying which also means higher prices. Drop shipping is ok for personal website stores but not for Ebay.
3. How do you personally verify a company?
4. No scammer is going to change a thing from a way in which they are already making money. Do you really think that .0000001% of scammers are going to seek out your post?
5. If IM selling a product from a website and you want more details than what I provide there why wouldnt you send them a self addressed letter with proper postage for the return. I for one would not deal with a customer that wants responses via snail mail. That defeats the purpose of the website. Time to live in the real world. If you really want to know the difference between a scam and a real supplier its this. A real supplier updates their websites monthly and their price lists daily or weekly. A sacmmer is lazy and would not put in this kind of effort.
To my knowledge there is only one bulk supplier of laptops on all of Alibaba. The rest are basically 7% below retail and are retailers looking to move product.

Replying to [anti-scam]: I guess you assume that everyone wants to sell on Ebay that comes to Alibaba. If Ebay is what you want to do thats great for you. But instead of trying to sell on ebay and paying two fees to them and one fee to PayPal why not sell on your own site and pay one fee.
Real example: I can buy real Nokia N95's all day long from distributor for 505.00USD unlocked all day long because of the quantities moved. Now I could sell them on Ebay for 625.00USD easily. However by the time you list it pay the selling fee and pay PayPal whats the profit? Fee's alone are 50.00 so you make 70.00 before shipping.
However, if you buy to sell on your own website you can sell them for 800.00USD a piece and still undercut all retailers. pay a 1.9% merchant fee and while offering free shipping and make 270.00USD on each one sold. So you can pay Ebay and PayPal or Put the Profit in your own pocket.
Do I know who the the distributors are? You betcha! Really though and its so simple where do you think you would go to find real distributors of name brand products. There is a resource on Alibaba but it seems no one realizes that its starring them dead in the face.
If you wanted to buy game consoles who do you think would really be the biggest distributors of the systems? People over think when in fact they should do a little reverse thinking. If you do you would know your way to the distributors of every name brand product in the world.
Lets talk Bluetooth headsets with warranty from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Jabra, Sony, ect... Do you realize you can by those items cheaper from a distributor in the US cheaper than you can import the knock offs and the fakes. The motorola Pink H500 goes for 59.99 - 79.99 in retail stores. However if you knew the disrtibutor of the real ones with real warranty you could buy them for 19.33USD a piece.
Now, no one is going to just give this information away as people can pay as much as 20,000.00USD for a single distributor name. I paid for none of them as I did the research over 28 years of finding the players in the electronics, electrical, and motorized fields. If you want to get into the market for refurbished items thats no a bad way to build up some contacts either. Take the Treo 700w Smartphone
I can buy them refurbished with warranty for 186.67 a piece and offer an extended warranty for 2 years at 39.99USD.
You will not find these distributors advertising on-line although they do maintain active websites.
Crying foul because you were scammed is because you wouldnt pay, couldnt pay, had no time to do the research, or were looking to make a fast quick kill on under priced knock offs.

Replying to [Ranger]:I was talking about eBay dropshipper, most of cases of scam that i talked to are going to sell this item for eBay. They are new and doesn't have enough knowledge on eCommerce to have their own website and sell lot's of stuff. They begin to dropship first because it's the best way to earn at least a small profit and build a reputation on eBay feedback.
