A source of legitimate Indonesian companies
Post 1 of 4
Hello,

as we take a look at the various forums of this website, we may have the impression that Indonesia is nothing else than a bunch of scam companies. However do not let us be deceived by the activities of some criminals. Indonesia is and remains a very large country with a huge population and an according market of buyers and suppliers with the respective business opportunities.

There is an organization for promoting Indonesian trade, NAFED. It is similar to ****, TaiwanTrade, KoTra of Korea, Jetro of Japan, MATRADE of Malaysia. This organization can help you find legitimate Indonesian partners if you are serious about trading in this country. It is a government-run organization therefore its services are supposed to be free.

Visit: www.nafed.go.id and/or www.nafedve.com to find out more.

Remember, NOTHING, even this will not spare you from your duty of Due Diligence! In the end of the day it is YOUR duty to secure your own interests!

I wish you happy trading. Any comments welcome.

I think its good you,ve taken the trouble to highlight possible positive channels

of possible legit indonesian buisnesess, that can be trusted? like many here its

very waring to read over and over the same story of scam, loss, anguish it would

be good to hear and see something positive from said country, and would also

be good for members who have honest legit traders, from indonesia, they could

actually reccomend, im only a small time player here a few hundred dollars

a time gamble, an if you find a goodin, keep them sweet, of course it works

both ways,[em21]

I am glad to help.

I should like to notice a few rules of thumb:

1. You need at least some basic knowledge about the country you want to buy from, and about the product you are offered. So if you see, for example, that LEGO is offered by an Indonesian company you will know that there is no LEGO production in this country, therefore there is no reason to have it any cheaper than in other countries. This way you filtered out certain scam possibilities.

2. Factories have and will ever have reasonably large MOQs. The larger a production run is the lower the average cost per unit. So low MOQs will rather attract high prices than low ones. This way you filter out scammers baiting you with low MOQs. Always have a reference quotation from an undoubtedly legitimate manufacturer at hand to compare.

3. There are no wonders in prices. There may be variations in labour costs, shipping rates but in the end everything is made of material that has a worldwide market price. So same products with same quality will not cost dramatically different from each other.

4. In capitalism, every market element wants to maximize profits. That is, if I have iPhones that cost 800 dollars normally, why should I give it away for 200 USD? If I sell it for 700 USD I have a higher margin and still have an edge over my competition. Offering very low prices is not reasonable and a sign of fraud.

If you remember these simple rules, you have a good chance to identify possible scam offers.
