What will you do if you meet this problem?
Post 1 of 25

Dear all my friends,

How are you? I am lindy from TOPWELL.[em21]

I have a customer from Turkey, and he placed a big order to us, now we are almost finished the products, also, near the deliery date(4th, March), now, I am worry about the payment.

Shall I ask the customer pay before delivery? As you know this is the big order, and some one said, Turkey's customers not so much be trust! [em4]

What shall I do? Please can you give me some advice?

Thank you

You are supposed to negotiate payment terms BEFORE you actually do production, aren't you.

What you can do is make delivery to the forwarder as agreed, and release the original B/L only after you have received a bank proof of the payment.

you should make payment terms when client played the order. It really according to what kind of payment do you both agree to when he ordered.

But now think you that you should try to aks the payment to payment balance before shipment. it will be better then.

Hello there,

Oh my my, you sure are in a perril, well the problem is that you should have discussed the payment terms from the start, as mentioned by one of the members in here, you can only release the B/L once the payment is in, but there is a problem to it.

What if the buyer rejects the order??? You would be basically stuck with the products in the container.

So in order to avoid this, you better contact your buyer now, request a 30% advacned payment to secure the order, since you are almost finished with the order. If he is a genuine buyer he will pay, or you could also request him to visit you and pay you at the loading on sight.

If he happens to turn out falls, then you still have enough time to find another buyer, since the order would be then still incomplete, and you will safe up on the container and loading costs.

So don't waste a minute contact the buyer right away.

And next time make sure you agree on payment terms before the order.

Hope that helps you.

peace
