Best travel plan to Cixi, Ningbo wins 50 MVP
Post 1 of 5
I went to Ningbo about seven years ago, and to the port which the oil tanker unloads her cargo.

My Korean colleagues and I, together with a local Chinese who speaks Korean travelled by train from Shanghai. In 2002, then there was no Bullet Trains, no bridge spanning the bay crossing from Shanghai. The journey took about 4 hours, and it was very crowded and not secured for me, sleeping on the bunk bed.

But we return by air from Ningbo airport to Shanghai, and then continued the journey to Seoul, Korea. This was a very quick way to travel, but a bit expensive.

Today, I open this thread to ask anyone who has a better suggestion as how I can get to Ningbo, Cixi, by the cheapest and quickest way, they should both be accounted. I know there is no direct flight to Ningbo, the domestic airport, cannot handle International flight.

If any one of our Chinese friends has a good suggestion, please help me to plan our journey to this part of China for a business meeting with a prospective manufacturer.

Thank you.

China Eastern Airlines flight from Singapore Airport to Pudong, Shanghai, and transit to Ningbo.

SIN-PVG-NGB-PVG-SIN

However, it seems that there is to be a transfer from Pudong International airport to Hongqiao domestic airport in Shanghai.

The distance between Ningbo and Shanghai is only 1 hour flight time. I am not sure of the distance between the Domestic and International airports.

Jocelyn Huang suggests: Take airport shuttle bus no.7 to Shanghai South Long-distance train/bus station. The fare price of RMB 20 per person. Then board the bus/train to Ningbo Departures: 1700, 1800, 1900 Hrs. 100 RMB each. The trip to Ningbo should take about 3.5 hours.  ... that must be my previous trip, which actually took 4 hours. (posted forum: Travelchinaguide.com Sep 3, 2007) Then the bridge was not built.

Thank you Wang Ting2.

But our boss will be travelling from Singapore, not from Seoul, Korea. Have you any information about the bus from Shanghai to Ningbo?

Is there any bus going by the new bridge?

We sure hope someone can give us good answer soon.

Best regards,

Dick .
