Dear Mr. Mani,
I think you can make payment throgh L/C when you recept the docuemts you requireed from issuing bank. If you worry about the spplier will not deliver the cargo you ordered. Pls inform them present the B/L of the order you required. Original B/L is the most important document from L/C. Or if you worry about you may receive the cargo you did not want. Pls issue the L/C as detailed as you can. So it is difficult to the supplier to counterfeit all the docs. And then you can claim for compensation according to the L/C.
Do you think so too?

Dear shenjin: Please see the answer to "
Dear Noodles" above. I think that will give you a brief introduction on the type of services both companies offer.

Replying to shenjin:
Dear Shenjin,
Western Union is a financial service provided by Western Union Financial, Inc and its agents. You can send money or make payment from any of their locations to anywhere in the world. All you need to do is to stop by any of their agent's location and fill up a form, however, you must know the name of the person/company to whom you will be making the payment to, and then you pay a small fee depending on the total amount of money you intend to sent and then they will send the money/payment instantly. You will be given a Money Tranfer Control Number that the recipient(s) will need in order obtain the fund from any of their participating banks or agents.
Same applies to Money Gram.
Hope that helps!

I am corresponding with a China supplier and am about to order samples, and I must confess that I am a bit nervous. Is it risky to send money via T/T - Can it be traced, if anything goes wrong? What is the safest form of payment to overseas suppliers?
I would be grateful if anyone could help me on this point.

I am presently looking to trade with one of three suppliers two in China and one in Parkistan many request a T/T 50% on order and 50% before shipment but what if nothing arrives? Shouldn't that be 50% on arrival of goods at least in my country?

Replying to [PosterBoy]:I do not agree to any form of advance payment for any product from existing productline. It may be justified if I order some new product other than normal production of the company or buyer specific service like website development or software. For off the shelf product, advance is unjustified.
