DOING BUSINESS WITH TRADER OR FACTORY DIRECTLY?

I FIND THAT THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE SAID THAT THEY ARE TIED OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THE SUPPLIER IN CHINA BECAUSE OF BEING CHEATED.
AS A TRADING COMPANY IN CHINA, WE STILL INSIST ON VISITING THE FACTORY BEFORE MAKEING ORDER TO THEM. I HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE FACTORY IS RIGHT THERE AND REALLY CAN PRODUCE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS TO OUR CUSTOMER.
BUT I KNOW THAT LOTS OF CUSTOMERS LIKE TO DO BUSINESS DIRECTLY WITH THE MANUFACTURE BECAUSE OF 5%-10% PRICE LOWER. IN THIS CASE, YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO ANY ORDER BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT IN CHINA, YOU CAN'T INSPECT THE PRODUCTS. THAT'S THE POINT WHICH YOU NEED IS SERVICE FROM TRADING COMPANY OR PRODUCTS DIRECTLY FROM FACTORY.
SO ONE PARTNER IN CHINA IS VERY IMPORTANT AND CONFIDENCE TO YOU AND YOUR BIG BUSINESS.

If i'm hiring purchasing personel in China and have them to deal with the factory directly, does my company still need an exporting lecense if I want to purchase the merchandise and export to the US? Could I just secure the suppliers then contract with an trading company, pay them to do the customs procedure? Thanks!

I can reply to your questions. If the factory has imp/exp license, you can make contract with the factory and let your purchasing agent to following the contract/order. If the factory doesn't have imp/exp license, you can require the factory to work with an export trading company to export to you. Usually, if the factory doesn't have the right of export, they will have a cooperative trading company to help them handle export business. In this case, just ask your purchasing agent to verify the two companies and their relationships and remember only to pay some deposit first prior to manufacture. Hey, Guy, if the factory had export/import license, just using it; if there is not, you could ask logistic(ocean/air) to handle these for you, it is easy as china gov encourage export...

Replying to [cacactus]: As above mentioned by another two peers, it is not necessary to apply to the government for your own export license. Hiring a personal agent to help you handle your order in China is a good way. If you need help, do not forget to contact a person like me, who is offering home office help.
