D.I.Y. Verifying Indonesian companies
Post 1 of 120
The reports of many scams by the Fake or fictitious companies registered in Alibaba site, and the new members who were trying to get a good buy on products of their desire, unaware of the wolves in sheep's clothing of those would-be vendors. Prompts me to give you the tools to verify the Indonesian company online, as the first step of defense against these financial predators and social scums.

The easiest and most effective step is to do a search in the Yellow Pages for the name/s of the company. The Yellow Pages is a Directory with its social responsiblity to print and publish all phone lines of companies registered with the country's Registration of Businesses and Companies.

Indonesian Yellow pages can be found when Googled with keywords "Yellow Pages Indonesia" to narrow the search. We have the Yoolk for your search of company name, street address and phone number below:

http://www.indonesia.yoolk.com

You will see a brief description of the company profile at the right top corner, if this company is not doing what you were offered, that rings an alarm bell.

Further on, if you want to verify the address, postal district codes and refine your verification, you may go for postal codes search. The Postal service of Indonesia has so graciously provided a comprehensive display of postal codes of Indonesia. Go to website at:

http://www.indonesianewsonline.com/prangko/stamps/kodepos.htm

Select the city on the list, if not found on the list, select others.

If you have any difficulty, or questions, please feel free to write your experience here in this thread, I will do my best to help you, on God's will.

Hi Nadia,

You got a nice name, one that I have always admired to be the first and only person with the perfect score in Olympic Gymnastics.

Try this other link, sometimes the link does not connect well, may be due to traffic or blocks set up by the server. This website is in Indonesian language, but you can click the English version or use a translator on-line, you have to install the translator into your web browser first. That I am not going to teach you here.

Straight away, this is phoney company. Company name is not found in Yellow page or Business Information. Meaning "WE LIKE MOTOR" and this is 100% SCAM.

Phone number is mobile hand phone, and fax number is not Jakarta city code.

The street name is not found in Jakarta, and the postcode is out.

You can do it yourself from the Yellow Page and the Postal Code.

There is another site, called Indonesia Business Information, you can also search, but the results will only be yes or no, if the company exists or not. If you want more detailed report, you have to pay for it.

The strange thing about Indonesia is that every company we check here turns out to be fake. How they have the guts and audacity to put up a false site and company like this?

Here is the website: http://www.disb2b.com/front/upgrademembership.php?file=bi)=ind

Drive safely, if you trade in the Internet, don't dive, just take necessary precautions to check before sending your cheque.[em2]

We like to know, and inform those who were cheated from their money . So far as we know, they only produce thieves, daylight robbers and lesser than beggars scums.

Hi I'm new here I recently made an order from an indonesian company and am a little suspicious for several reasons. Here's their info below.

Company name:  Alu Barona

State/province: Jakarta Raya

phone & fax: 62-021-3500220

Address: Jl. Palmerah Utara No.410

Contact person: David Shuen

I should have checked up on this before I actually did anything , but didn't think to it then, so hopefully this guys legit. But anyway here's why I'm a little suspicious.

The phone & fax are the same, but then again I'm not really familiar with how this works in other countries, but here at least I think usually these are different. Also this seems to be a number that was used by another indonesian company called "Wambi Mitra" which is no longer on Ali Baba. I was unable to find any information about why Wambi Mitra is gone or anything else about them other then that they have the same phone and location as Alu Barona. Here's the reqason why initially I became suspicious. I paid them through paypal and they said that they would need 3 days for the payment to clear the bank before they shipped out and gave me a tracking number. But it's been about 6 days now and last I heard from them about two days ago it still hadn't cleared. They said they would contact me as soon as it did.

On the other hand they did let me pay through paypal which most scammers don't do and it they were scammers you would think they would just cut and run right after they got the payment instead of keeping up contact with me afterwards. So I'm really not sure what to think here. I tried to look them up on the indonesian yellow pages, but I couldnt find them. I'm not sure if I was using it right, do you just stick their street address in there and search? If you guys think these are scammers, what would you advise me to do here?

Well I decided all this was much too suspicious so I filed a claim with paypal. If I dont get a tracking number in the next 10 days from this guy I'll get my money back.

There was another seller I was considering getting things from here , but none of his info showed up on the yellow pages either so he seems suspicious to me as well.
