we want to import scaffold towers to uk.
steel frame and aluminum frame

i see EN 1004, BS 1139-6 for alloy scaffold

Do you have to have the EN approval for scaffold towers to sell?
I see many suppliers selling without any approval?

Thanks, John

Hi,

I have looked at these tests for some time, and seems that the main facts that if you use ladders in a trade situation then must have the right test, so EN131 for ladders for this class at 150kg, there is another test for 175kg ladders, and for domestic ladders at 125kg.

But not a legal test, but only for the business or trade person that use them as any insurance cliam would be lost if they was using ladders not tested to these requirements.

Domestic ladders dont have to have this mark.

as for the scaffold, they use the HD 1004 but would be for industral and trade scaffold, and aluminum.

Most mobile towers (metal) dont carry the test, but again is only for the diy person to use.

again domestic scaffold dont have to have any mark
