Firmware for SGH L-288
Post 1 of 5
Dear Members,

I know it may be a bit off-topic for here, but I hope you can help me.

I have a Samsung SGH L-288 mobile phone (my understanding is it is only sold in China), I received it from my sister who was at the Olympic Games.

The problem is that the mobile phone does not work now. At the local Samsung centre I was told it is some memory problem that can be solved by firmware update, but there is no software for this in my country, only in China.

I tried to contact Samsung in China, but it is only in Chinese which I do not speak good enough to explain my problem. So my question is, do anyone of you know a contact at Samsung China where I can make my request in English? The warranty page at Samsung.cn communicates only in Chinese.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gabor,

Go to following page for L288 and see if you could download the firmware and software you needed:

http://www.samsung.com/cn/support/download/supportDown.do?group=mobilephones&type=mobilephones&subtype=gsm&model_nm=SGH-L288&mType=SW&dType=D&vType=R

If you need more help, drop me a line.

Cheers,

Sophie

Hello,

I downloaded the software but it is the same as the program found on the CD supplied with the phone. It does not really help, I need to switch on my phone to connect it to this surface, but this is exactly the problem, my phone does not switch on. I need the very software the phone uses for working (not the user surface).

Therefore, it would be the best if I could contact an English-speaking technician at Samsung China directly. Do you have an idea?

I am not sure if the technician can speak English or not, you can try Samsung toll free service line in China:
8008105858, or hot line: 4008105858, 010-64751880,
from Monday to Sunday, 8:00-17:00 Beijing time.

Or, watch this:
http://support-cn.samsung.com/service/clientcenter/video.asp
and long distance service:
http://www.samsung.com/cn/support/servicepolicy/serviceremote.html

Hope it can help.
