Competing against fake brands
Post 1 of 10
Dear Friends
One of the major problem we are facing now days is competing with fake brands.
In our market there are many brand which are sold fake in bulk. They are been manufactured by the Traders who force small manufacturer to make them.
They have good brand image so they are easyly marketable and prices are less due to low qulaity and less expences because make by small manufacturer.
If a brand is only made by one small manufacturer it do not pose much problem because of small supplies, but if many people start duplicating it then it really get floded in market.
We have tried to tech the buyer but how to find our the original v/s duplicate becuase it is mostly done by authorized dealer of the brand.
Buyer thinks that he is able to negotiate the price well for good brand but, actually he is been tricked.
Like to hear good suggestion from you.

If you know of companies making these fakes..... report them to the actual Brand Name company.......They will then start proceedings against the fake maker. Reporting them to the police is sometimes useless as there can be some corruption involved. Reporting them directly to the REAL maker is best... In the long run keeping these fakes out of the market place will benefit everyone...

You are right, when detecting fake products, the best way would be notify the real makers. They will have more reasons and pasions to make sure this fake company gets out io the market quickly. Going to police or other legal source could help out but also could be delayed for long, as it does not affect the bottom line directly.
Good recommendation.

we can actually tell the counterfeited products out of those real by using our business sense.
No any single brand maker will sell its products in a region at an extremely low price that after they are exported and imported to another country the products still enjoy great price advantage.
that is suicide if that is the case.

Dear Foow
You do have a very valid point. I fully agree with you.
But, the main problem is that brands I am talking about are leading brands and are suppliing mainly to biggest customers and Importers.
These features do not affect much to them. Although, they fully know about it, but they are not taking it much seriously.
On the other hand these suppliers are bigger problem to us as these supplies does matter to us.
Also there is problem in leagal action also, as some of the cusotmers traders and consumers will also involve in this. Taking leagal action can also back fire us in form of discomfert caused to them.
Only solution we came out with is giving material to as many consumers as we can even in small quantities and try to make our brand popular as well.
Also, we show the original price list of the company to them proving that the price offered to them can not be valid. Also, advicing them to ask quality reports from the suppliers.
But, again it takes lot of time to do also it is not very difficult for them to change the name of firm.

Supreme Court of India has passed injunction, restraining Dabur India to stop use of 'Glucose-D' as brand because it sounds similar to 'Glucon-D' brand of Heinz.
It is because the matter was taken up in right earnest by aggrieved company.

Dear Sixer
In case which you have told us, Daber was involved which in itself was a big establishment. He can make a lot of difference to Glucon - D.
But, if insted of Dabar it would have been a small company which can sell in only 1% on capacity of Dabar, then they would have been reluctant to involve there time into it.
