The Chinese culture is thick with idioms we have some of the more popular ones here, those in the Cantonese dialect and some also in Mandarin.

1. One eye sees over the Dragon.
2. Starting work like a worm, finishing work like a dragon.
3. The maid is more prominent than the lady.
4. So big a frog jumping around the street meh?
5. You do me 1st moon of the month, I will do you 15th moon.
6. One mountain cannot sustain two tigers.
7. Don't act like a vagabond to be a scholar.
8. One mountain has another mountain high.
9. Asking me for money is like borrowing a comb from a monk.
10. A good horse will not eat past grass.
11. The new sales person is a green hand on the job.
12. First bitter, than later comes the sweet.

1. One eye sees over the dragon, aka a cockeyed person, or a person overlooking the big details and looking for smaller ones. As the American would say: major on the minor.

7. This is more of a Fujian origin than Cantonese. It is someone who wants to act like a highly educated person, where s/he is not.

11. A new sales person is a green hand. Meaning inexperienced, and raw to the system. The Chinese meaning of a green hand.

I am sure there are many more, but Westerners could not perceive the idoms of the Chinese Culture.

Like what they say in Cantonese, they have no "water" means that they are broke.
