Freight and shiplines.
Post 1 of 6

Hi all,

I just started to get involved in trading business and I would like to get some idea on the Shipping and its freight charges.

I have used PIL Shipline to ship my goods out of China before this. I found that their freight charges is one of the cheapest compare with the other shiplines, but this does not apply when I am going to ship out my goods from the other destination.

Does anyone has the idea on which Shipline offer the best rate generally?

Thanks and Cheers!!

You can go to www.youship.com - they are the only container carrier showing you the real price with all surcharges included online. If you like the product and price, you simply book online as well - as easy as booking airline tickets online.

Replying to [amienleo]: In the shipping market, the freight rate of shiplines is always fluctuating. Few cargos in the shipping market, the shiplines will low their freight to collect the cargo. In the peak season of the shipping market, the freight charge will be increased.

The best way is check the shipping rate with several forwarders when you have the shipment, and ask them to offer the best rate and best shiplines. Although this way will take some time, you can find what you need and get the shipping cost lower. [em1]

PIL is very cheap carrier for shipping goods out of China... However they don't offer service for all other sectors like US/Europe or they would be way expensive...

Normally, MSC Line is the carrier that covers most part of the World and is relatively cheaper than Maersk or APL who also covers most trade lanes!!! [em1]

Why don't you contact a freight forwarder? They often have deals with several shipping lines and because they ship many containers a year they have better deals with the shipping lines. Also they often have a world wide network and contacts in every country.  If you need any quotations contact me and I will see where I can help you.
