Problem with Euro Business guide
Post 1 of 16
A month ago I received a sheet from "Euro business guide" (internet information center), where with normal letters was said - If you want to update your company information, please fulfill the form and send it back to us. and then with bolded letters "updating is for free". I thought that they already have some minimum information about our company, so as I thought if it is for free, I filled the form and sent them.
Last week I received an invoice for EUR 965.00 and a copy of the form. Checked it carefully and noticed, that with very small letters under the place for signature is written - by signing this order you agree to the terms and conditions specified in our homepage and for ordering information insertion in our webpage for 3 years for EUR 965.00 per year. Of course, I hadn't noticed that before, because it was written in so small letters that normally you don't read it. I wrote them that I would like to cancel the order, because the form was misleading, but they keep writing me that it is not possible to cancel, I have signed it so they cannot be responsible if I have read the full document or not. Have you ever had a situation like this or maybe you know someone who has? Because I do not have such money and I'm really worried about the siuation...

Re: Problem with Euro Business guide

I have at least heard about it before. Do a search for "Euro Business Guide" on Google and you will find a few warnings. "European City Guide" was a very similar scam, you can find some information on it here:

Re: Problem with Euro Business guide

As mij experience in Western Europe, this is a typical European Business when a company tries making money by misleading others. Unfortunately, some well-known companies sometimes do that bad business as well.

Re: Problem with Euro Business guide

I have had a similar experience with a Fair Guide company. The solution is, check if there is a court sentence against this company in any EU country and if they want you to pay again and threaten with a lawsuit, refer to this sentence and they will stop molesting you.

Just paste the name in Google and there is a fair chance that you would find the reference.

As showing a long time ago in this thread , http://stopecg.org/ seems to be still going .

At the bottom of the link page  , there is a  further clickable link to open a pdf  file .

This then shows a report from a Euro member of parliament , concerning these questionable  business directories .

As far as I can see there are  possibly  still no pending court cases against any of the more questionable   business guide companies . The report  seems to suggest individual countries should use  local laws to attempt prosecution .

Possibly the poster of this thread should contact his local  government officials to explore any possibility of assistance

Re: Problem with Euro Business guide

REGARDING THE PROBLEM WITH THE EURO BUSINESS GUIDE, I HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH THEM, THEY SEND

THE FORM THOUSAND OF TIMES AND FINALLY I MADE THE MISTAKE TO FILL OUT THE FORM, STAMPED AND SIGNED,

WITHOUT TO READ THE SMALL LETTERS. TWO MONTHS LATER THE SEND ME THE INVOICE ASKING TO PAY THE

RELEVANT INVOICE FOR TWO YEARS, EACH YEAR SUBSCRIPTION WAS EURO 990 EXLUDING THE VAT.

I WROTE TO THEM THAT I HAD NO INTENTION TO SUBSCRIBE WITH THEM AND THAT I THOUGHT IT WAS

AN UPDATE FREE OF CHARGE AS WAS WRITTEN ON THEIR FORM.  THEY SAID THAT IN CASE OF NON

PAYMENT THEY WILL SUE ME AND MORELESS WILL HAVE TO PAY MORE DUE TO DELAY IN PAYING.

FINALLY WE CAME TO AN AGREEMENT TO PAY ON LY FOR ONE YEAR THE AMOUNT OF EURO 990 WHICH

A DID IN ORDER TO AVOID THE SUE AGAINST ME.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR OPINION AND IF THERE

IS ANYTHING  I CAN DO TO CLAIM MY MONEY BACK.

Re: Problem with Euro Business guide

Don't worry... We have been taking a lot of invoices last two years. But nothing we paid. They can do nothing cos there is no company has the name of EU Business guide or service. All of them are fake...

best wishes

Re: Re: Problem with Euro Business guide

So you have paid for one year insertation. Thay will not do anything in that year but after that you will recieve another invoice for next year of insertation with explination that your order is for 3years of insertation and you have paid for one. If you wannt them to not bother you again send them cancellation note for next 2 years. And save a copy of that letter.

Anyway I have done mistake to pay them for one year of insertation. I did not know anything about them and I was warried for my job. That was mistake. After that I have cancelled service. So that is 2 years. Now thay wannt me to pay for 3. year (last year) they sending to me letters, fax.... Once I have try to replay on e-mail that I have paid and cancelled all next services, and my mail was not delivered. It was returnet to me as not delivered. I have send to them fax with note that I have cancelled future services and I am ready to go in court and I have asked to send to me info regarding company for may lawyer ( just to scare them). Thay have ignored my message (fax) and keep bothering me with same faxes and also they send to me invoice by fax. I have read lot about this in internet and decide to not pay. We will se what will happend. I dont think thay will process this in court. Also eurobussinesguide is not from Netherland and I dont think is legal.

Let me know what happend to you next, and I will also send info to you here.

Greetings :)
