I'm based in the UK and I'm looking for an individual or business in China that can help check out trading companies in China for me to make sure that they are legitimate, before I do business with them.

I cannot afford heavy fees at the moment, so hopefully someone willing to check out companies part-time for a small fee would be helpful.

There is a company right now I'd like to do business with, but I have no idea if they are genuine.

depends on the products you want, but see Foow's note about chinese helpers, we are on that list, i will give you advice if i can to help you, many times you just need more information first, i am still in china now, but we will send some products to uk soon for our own sales. anyway get more free advice first before you make any orders.

Replying to [Bobbieboy]: Search Skype, MS Messenger or Yahoo for someone in the same city that is on the net.

Ask this one to call the company - he/she speaks Chinese and can ask for what they are doing and e.g. confirm where your request is in the queue.

If they give a fax number - send them a fax, and ask them to fax "silly evidence" - e.g. mobile phone: the side of the box of 3 phones all with IMEI code showing. If this is Nokia - go to Club Nokia, enter the IMEI and see what is shown.
But simple scans of what they claim to produce on the latest Time Magazine is als revealing.
