Can I trust a man who claimed that he paid $585 to get Trustpass status?

Why would someone ask to communicate outside the Alibaba email account? I am trying to buy some products from one of the Trustpass member. But he insisted that I contact him via a Yahoo account. Now, he is unwilling to provide any refrences but claiming to trust him based on his Trustpass membership?
Here is some of the text from his email. So do I trust Trustpass because he paid $585 to get the status?

Sorry, I do not agree with you the way Trust Pass Membership is given.
In the India forum, Free Six Months Trust Pass Membership is used as a carrot to woe people to participate in the forum, this sends a wrong signal about Alibaba's Trust P *. The moderator mentioned it is for Indians.
This is my personal opinion about Trust P *, but during that year, I had a number of inquiries, most of the local ones are fulfilled with orders, but the foreign inquiries rested on trust. Suppliers cannot trust buyers, and therefore the easiest way out is to insist on prepayment by telegraphic transfer, which is not acceptable to buyers.
Letter of Credit is expensive and lots of red tapes involved, like pre-shipping inspections, time frame and proper documentations. For small transactions, companies do not want to take LC as payment term. However Alibaba has come up with Alipay system, which is still in the green, Alibaba has a lot to convince both buyers and sellers of its benefits and how to apply it to their transactions.
To summarise, Trust Pass Membership integrity must be maintained, not to be given away as Free Gifts. A Trust Pass Membership is not the all thing, results still have to base on your marketing skills and E-commerce strategy.

hallo all you can not buy trust by using trustp *,i think if one scam somebody using trustpass all members will be informed,by alibaba and you will be blacklisted,as well deal with lawyers.Alibaba helped me by informing me by email about a possible scam by non member,i adhere to the advice and save a lot of trouble,thank you alibaba you are really helpfull

please send the company name or his alibaba link to service@alibaba-inc.com, we will have a check and follow up accordingly.
besides, Gold Suppliers and TrustPass members have passed an authentication and verification process, and this is proof that they are legitimate companies. However, as business is always full of risks, we can never guarantee it is 100% safe to trade with these paid members.

You can only trust of you supplier provides all detailed information and his company is registered and all details are correct. You can go to google.com and check if company does exist.
I use my company email as well as personal email and alibaba email. I am a free member but we do a lot of business and our company is big.
I dont think you can trust only because someone paid for his mebership!!!

Do not trust any supplier with gold supplier & trustPass in alibaba.com, even alibaba.com itself also can't provide you are they a trustpass supplier or they are a fraud company. You have to beware once they say you are the 1st customer or when they say they can give you 100% of risk free in purchase a goods in alibaba.com. Alibaba mean THEFT, here most are the companies are THEFT, and alibaba.com was the Head of the THEFT they just asked for a payment become a Gold Supplier & TrustPass member for a company, but once have problem they just said they will be terminate the fraud company but alibaba.com never do any as they just said only to let buyers continue trust their website still under control by them, all are rubbish & bull-sh'i't from alibaba.com!
