Quoting from [Vicente]:
First let me brief you waht I am doing and what I would like to do, given there could a sound business plan to go with it.
New Jersey is as diverse as the world could be. You could find people from almost every country in the world. But besides that due to the proximity to latin America, is also home for more than 40 million Latinos.
My business center in importing peruvian products geared to target the "Peruvian community" residing in the Northeast. However the bulk of peruvians live in New Jersey, there are some small communities in New York, Massachussetts and Pennsylvania.
So far so good, the products I have imported has made a small dent in this market and little by little my market share is growing. What I offer the Peruvians are pastries, sweets and chocolates, which are very traditional back in Peru, and somehow brings greta memories to the peruvians living in USA.
The scope of my next venture is to enter another latino market. I would like to enter the Argentinian, Colombian, Mexican and Ecuadorean market, they have similar products, and have shown some resistance into switching to different pastries than they already have. Trying to find out what marketing campaign could be used to make a dent on that market.
The business plan that I am trying to come up with is: "give them an offer they can not refuse". Some free stuff, I am thinking of some low-cost items from China to give away when they buy peruvian products, like small stationery items with my company logo on it, or a little more impressive like a soccer ball (regular size) for the purchase of 30 dolars or more. I wonder if some of you have done some promotional offers similar to my proposal, and what type of results have you got. If so, is there a follow up campaign that should complement this launch, or esle. Your valuable comments will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Vicente Huaman
Dear Vicente,
I have used this give away on purchase in 1986.Please read my post on your topic 'How to introduce ew product in market with Dominant........'
I gave Chinese digital watches, costing $4/dozen, which was craze with kids. One watch free with one fan.Guys bought fan and gave watches to their kids. This created a big flutter in the market.I had displys at each counter of Fan retailing to attract customers.
Soccer Ball is a perfect attraction for Latin Americans. I feel enthusiastic about your plan.I hope you get excellent results.
