I learnt that
it is one day off for many country,so was China 7 years ago.
it is funny when you watch news on what laborer do on this day
,giving a demonstration or march about rising wage,
getting improved of working condition, busy in this stuff,
while Chinese are really relaxing and innocent to think
their own way to enjoy free day holiday,a getaway to
make self comfortable
I learnt that

In China is 7 day, and the holiday is a moving target too,ex, this year 5.1 is Tuesday , and we have to work on 30.4 and 29.4 (saturday and sunday). but this for tthe officeres who work in the govement, in factory just 1-3 days, we just have 2 days , so i have to work today.

In the US we celebrate Labor day on the first Monday of September.
The holiday was to originally to honor and commemorate workers who made sacrifices in the early US labor movement.
Ironically, today only management gets labor day off, the people who were supposed to benefit from this holiday must work, or risk losing their job.
