How to get more sales from your existing customers
Post 1 of 7
I was wondering if some of you have found good options on getting your customers to buy more from you either in volume or other types of products.
In may case I have products to offer them from five different suppliers. Some customers buy products from one brand, others buy from every brand name, and some others a mix of products.
Because I am a distributor, don't have a physical retail store, all my print media ads are about the product and the benefits it provides. I only include at the end, the point of sales list of 10 clients, which are typically the new ones.
Haven't seen a consistent improvement in sales. Any comment or sugestiom will be more than welcome. Plan to consider give them low-cost items for them to giveaway to the end customers.

I believe that you should have a small sales team to visit retailers regularly a fixed frequency.Being distributor, you may be having territorial limits within which you have to sell.Your sales team can grab opportunity whenever competitor brand fails supplies, retailers wanting to add variety and many other reasons.
Also, with participation of your principals, you can arrange Product Display contests at retail counters.Higher visibility encourages non-committed buyers to switch to your brand, giving you the push.

Dear Sixer
I really appreciate your comment, I have thought about that but in a different way, and could not see a sound plan for my concept. But with your input is becoming much clear, the next step to do. I am in the chocolate and cookies business, so my products are not that type of first necessity, like bread or milk, that are needed on a weekly basis. The average customer usually don't call me, even though I have visited them many times. I need to pay them a visit to see how sales are doing and share with them best practices from other locations to boost his local sales. Then they place their orders.
However this close follow up has helped me identifiy other products they also want and will be expanding my product line shortly. To add more interest to my products I plan to bring low-cost promotional items from China to giveawaya to end customers, so I can improve the offer from my competition.
Regards

Vicente

Maybe the solution is to find more about your clients and what they offer their customers?

Many times you could offer products they get from their local supplier at lower cost, so you can giver them a better service.
