How do I get paid as a broker in a professional and efficient way?
Post 1 of 4
Dear Traders,

I'm just caught up in the mix,as a member of this valuable trading zone may you all kindly help me out.  I'm a broker representing a Copper cathodes supplier, now the when I found the buyer,he had some special trade alterations which he requested after I received the FCO.
I then reverted to the supplier who then after a long negotiation with his forwarding clearing agent altered the FCO for the benefit of all parties and agreed to bond/pay all the local charges.

My question to you all is how do I get paid? should I approch the supplier and start negotiating for a percentage in commission and how much percentage should I request ?
The supplier has agreed gave a new FCO waiting to be signed and the deal is on!!!! me as a broker what is the best and most professional and efficient way should I follow, should I request a letter of consent, and how?

Please kindly advise. PLEASE HELP!!!! [em8][em8]

Dear Jery !
It's seem like you are new in this trade.....well, first of all you have to finalize the commission percentage in the starting of business process. But now the deal is almost final you should contact to the supplier and ask your percentage.....now come to the point of percentage rate...it's depend on your country or trade that what percentage rates is set for that. Normally in India the percentage rate is 2.5% on total Invoice.
You should check with your local traders & keep this point in your mind that commission percentage must be finalize on initial stage.

with best regards !

Hello Mr.Hery

Normally $50 to 100 is the commission allowed on copper trade. You could have signed a FPA while forwarding the LOI. Gone is gone , Now ask for Fee Protection Agreement signed by the seller. If you have additional buyer and safe business, pls come to me for copper.
