The 101st session of China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair for short) will be held simultaneously in Pazhou Complex and Liuhua Complex in Guangzhou, China from April 15-30, 2007. The exhibition pattern remains as in two phases and at two complexes. The schedule will be from April 15 to 20 for Phase I, from April 25 to 30 for Phase II and with an interval from April 21 to 24. The number of stands reaches 31682, with 274 more than the previous session. The complexes cover a gross exhibition area of 63,4000 square meters with a net exhibition area of 28,5000 square meters.

First, International Pavilion


International Pavilion is set up in Hall 21.2 of Pazhou Complex from April 15-20. Accommodating 629 standard stands, it covers a gross exhibition area of 10,400 square meters with a net exhibition area of 5,661 square meters.


The exhibits of International Pavilion fall into categories of industrial and consumer goods. They are shown according to classification in 9 sub-sections, including Machinery & Equipment, Small Vehicles and Spare Parts, Electronics and IT Products and Household Electrical Appliances, Hardware and Tools, Building Materials, Kitchen and Sanitary Equipment, Consumer Goods, Decorations and Gifts, Jewelry, Foodstuffs and Agricultural Products.


Till now, 303 enterprises from 37 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the International Pavilion, including 7 enterprises from 6 least developed countries. Top five countries or regions with the most stands in the list are: Hong Kong SAR: 78; Taiwan Province: 42; Korea: 37; Malaysia: 35; America: 13, while according to classification of industry, the top five are: IT Products and Household Electrical Appliances: 72; Jewelry: 41; Consumer Goods: 39; Machinery and Equipment: 37; Hardware and Tools: 34.


The Canton Fair especially invites no less than 6,000 domestic professional buyers.

Second, National Pavilion


The National Pavilion of the 101st session of the Canton Fair has 31,053 stands and a gross exhibition area of 620,000 square meters. 5 categories of exhibits will be shown in 34 exhibition sections. The detailed layout is as follows: Phase I of Pazhou Complex exhibits industrial products while Phase II exhibits consumer goods. Phase I of Liuhua Complex shows garments and textiles, medicines and health products while Phase II shows gifts.


14,430 enterprises from 50 domestic trading delegations participate the National Pavilion of the 101st session of the Canton Fair.


The 101st session of the Canton Fair continues to establish brand zone with 4,183 brand stands. 809 well known enterprises have entered the Brand Zone.

Third, Invitation of Overseas Buyers


We have directly sent invitations and publications to 288,000 overseas buyers from 213 countries and regions, meanwhile buyers are encouraged to apply online through "Buyers E-Service Tool".


The 101st session of the Canton Fair intensifies its efforts in advertising in print media. At present, in addition to releasing advertisements in 62 media in 26 countries and regions including sector£¬chamber of commerce, economy and trade, and comprehensive media, China Foreign Trade Centre has sent a few promotion teams to over 10 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, America and Oceania. Moreover, we also promote the Canton Fair in famous international fairs to attract more professional buyers.


The Cooperative Partnership Program of the Canton Fair is continuously promoted. At present, we have been keeping working relations with more than 1,000 overseas industrial and commercial organizations, and have signed "Cooperation Proposal" with 36 such organizations. We actively encourage our cooperative partners to promote the Canton Fair.


In this session, we continue to set up the Multinationals Sourcing Service to provide top multinational buyers with individualized service. 14 multinational enterprises from France, America, Korea, Denmark, and Mexico participate the Multinationals Sourcing Service.


Fourth, Continuous Efforts on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights


The Canton Fair has always attached great importance to the protection of IPR. In the 85th session in 1999, it set up the Complaint Reception Station of IPR Protection to receive complaints concerning IPR infringement. A set of complete IPR protection system, applicable to the actual situations of fair, is established after years of practice.


We reinforce the protection of IPR and improve "Complaint and Settlement Provisions of Being Suspected of Infringing IPR of the Canton Fair" to severely punish the enterprises that violate the IPR.
