Dear, International Friends

How can we do with a buyer who reply mail only one sentence ; there was no title ,greeting, no name ,no end confirm???

You can ask his company's information, and check if  it's really buyer or not.  If he is a really buyer, I don't think it necessary care of this.

Some of my client also like reply me just one sentence or some words, because he is very busy, he say he always got  thousand of email every day.

What Mavera is saying is true! Besides, sometimes the "real buyer" himself doesn't know in the moment he is contacting you if he will become your buyer or not. First he'll get quotations from some companies, and after that he'll decide where to buy.

The fact that he appeared a little rude doesn't mean a thing, as Mavera already pointed out. Business peolpe are quite often extremely busy (what do you think the word "business" comes from?). I, for one, do my best to come across as a polite and orderly person, but still so sometimes it doesn't work for some reason. You never know!

Don't worry about first impressions your prospect leaves! Check out your potential customer (do your Due Diligence) and rely on that, not the way how the buyer addresses you.

Recognizing a real buyer, its not the main idea during a international selling process. I think this way because, you will not be sure about him ,until a purchase is made and a payment is recieved.the different answers you would get during this process, could mean a language difficult or lack of time.keep on mind that patience and quality costumer service will lead you into good bussines.

Most friends comment from converse side,i would like to say something from face side. Do believe that more than 5 peoples in 10 are reliable and want to buy something in China thru Alibaba stage,no matter she/he behalfs of a company or her/himself,or biz scale is big or small. If you take this feeling to work with them, you will be patient,it is key important at the beginning,if you are not patient and talk/work with them with a doubt and unconcernedly, any clients who doing real business will be lost by you.

As the time spent, trying to use the precious advices from other friends, you will definitely can judge who is the real buyer and who just want to get free lunch from you.

By the way, different industry have different situations,i am involved in clothing manufacturing in China. I suggest you could prepare enough to work with your buyers from small business, these clients even can not place a big order with you after 2 or 3 years later. For me it is a truth at least.

Wish you could get a prosperous harvest in e-commerce. [em20]

Best Wishes,Fred

Dear Sir,

First thing is for me to ask you a favour, since your post has been put to the front lines in front page. Please correct the spelling of the subject: how to recognise a real buyer.

This will make our forum looks more "professional" as the Administration  staff implies/suggests.

Thank you

I guess an enquiry email must contain followings:

- Not free email accounts.

- Subject.

- Greetings.

- Request for quotation.

- Sender's name, position, company name, address with ZIP code, phone, fax, email address and website address.

Hmm, does it really have to be? Why?

For a good number of reasons, I for one use a public mail server. Does that make me an "unreal" buyer?

Though I understand the desire to stay away from scammers and people who inquire just because they are bored, I fail to see how observing your points could be helpful.
