Customer always know less about the products you can offer, so patience will be a good method to deal with these inquiries.
If posible, let customer know the detail of the goods that they have interest in or may have interest in from the inquiry they send to us. Price is an important element for buyers, but this is not the only reference or element for buyers. If your price is not so competitive enough in the market, you need to find or show customer other aspects for your goods, such as quality, after-sales service, and some other information that you think is necessary.
Try to grasp every opportunity, and do your best to start your business.

as i understand that a position of a sales person does what they need to get more clients and to make sure you have availible what they are looking for. If you can not supply just tell them first, do not tell them you have then they place order to see and factory can not supply or not in stock. everyone is a potential buyer and should be treated that way. yes price is a factor but service is what everyone is looking for. i have just started selling jerseys in the US and having a hard time finding a supplier that have everything i need. so sales people please understand that it is difficult for buyers that have not deal with you before. it is hard for someone to turn over money and hoping to see if they receive products they order in this economic time. hope this helps. i try to order lots of jerseys but hard to find good factory so i have to search but i will keep in mind who treats me good and who thinks they dont need my business. everyone starts somewhere in the business and hopefully they will end up achiving greatness in it. that is all we want.
Yes. I know I should offer the best service to our clients, I should reply every inquiry patiently. But day after day, I keep on sending quotations but get no reply, I am dismayed. I know maybe the order would come tomorrow, but now I need to be encouraged. I want to know that my work is not futile.

maybe a general catalog would not be a problem but a price list would be since you are not so sure if you are quoting your price to your competitior. Need time to make sure about that!
Moreover, a general price list would need time to finish and maybe sales would consider the buyers not sincere ones and therefore, choose to give up sometimes. In this case, I am thinking that buyers and sellers should be patient enough and be open enough to speak to points and help each other for more efficient communication and business cooperation.
More communication to find what both really want would make a prefect beginning and for long-term cooperation!
My suggestion to friends: express your idea that you are sourcing quality products and reliable partners in your email and let your supppliers understand what you really want. I hope better communication would speed up business and cooperation!
We can ask him/her like this before quoting the price
How much will you buy our product roughly?
By analysing the quantity you can prioritize and make your decision whether your should send the catalogue or not.
If he said only a small quantity then you can ask him how much is your production per month? by calculating their maximum production you can know the maximum quantity you can get
If the quantity is not enough you can choose to respond or not.
I am not saying that you reject every minimum quantity but this method proven to make prioritize whether it is important enquiry or not
