Post 1 of 14

2008 have passed away and 2009 is here. Every year we take some resolutions for the year. Do you believe that it works?

Give your answer here to know by others.

For me,  my resolutions are changed year by year from Child to adult. Some of them realized , others did not. In 2009, we only wish I can keep a good score of saling as before. Haha. This is likely to become true with my best efforts.  I want MVP score too.[em2]

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

I planned to change my field from enginering to marketing but during this damned crisis, I rather spend more time on learning and gathering more information.

Maybe you should stop dealing with free members? Only deal with trustpass members. There is always signs, if you get a gut feeling that something isn't right, no matter how good the deal is. Don't do it!

For me personally. I don't believe in New Year resolutions. If you are going to do something why wait until the beginning of the year to start a plan? It makes no sense.

29 years ago I made a New Years Resolution that has been keep since that time. Sitting at a New Years party with my wife and friends and just after the birth of our first son I resolved to never make another New Year Resolution again! This resolution has yet to be broken.

People with 'will power' should make resolutions. There should never be a time or date to make a resolution.

I guess, 'New Year Resolutions' are being made simpily to recollect the date/time since it was brought into effect.

Happy New Year!!!

New Year resolutions are meant to be broken. In fact I've not seen/met any person changing overnight (i.e. 1 of January) for the entire year after they set their new year resolutions set especially on the night of December 31st after a few pegs gulped down their throat or on the morning of 1st of Jan. It's well known that old habits die hard and people do try to either set resolutions on the following lines:

1. Do away some old bad habits/refrain from doing ills etc.

Usually, these habits are hard to part with. But still a thought to do away with these bad habits itself show that the person consider them as bad. But with time, he/she compromises with them and again continues till the next year. For example, for almost 6 years now, I've had a New Year resolution to leave my bed early and go out for a jog or a walk. But...till the next New Year eve.

2. Inculcate some Good habits/practise/set new goals/aims etc.

Very closely related to the bad habits on many aspects.

If not taught during childhood, it's the most difficult part of a man's (female included) life once grown up – to get into good habits. As a New Year resolution people do plan to become a perfect human being but this perfection last only for a few days may be.

This is the beauty of human life. We plan, deviate and we fail but we still get up and move ahead. Had life’s been a perfect dream, the desire to move ahead to die and we will have no zeal to create new paths to reach new levels. So the New Year resolutions are to stay in our lives and we unknowingly get into a habit of setting New Year resolutions year after years.

The imperfections in the world drive us to make the world a better place to live.
