Dear friends,
I need your advise on my career improvement.
Some information first:
I am 30 y.o. Russian native with fluent English (both spoken and written), strong background in international trade and business development. I developed successful projects in the fields of consumer electronics, automobile parts, textile, gifts&premiums, etc. In the past I had more than 100 partners in Western Europe and Asia.
Now I am looking for a new job. In past 3.5 years I spent a lot of time in Hong Kong and China Mainland buying products to sell in Russia. I love this country and want to continue my career in international business. I also have to say that I was quite successful with this job. For example, in 2007 I got more than USD 2 000 000 profit for my employer.
Today I have two main questions:
1. How do you think, are there any companies in Hong Kong and China Mainland which could be interested in hiring person like me?
2. What are the most efficient ways to find a job in this region? I have already posted my resume at www.jobsdb.com and www.51job.com, but afraid that it's definitely not enough.
Any advice or useful information will be highly appreciated.
Best regards,
Maxim
P.S. This is not resume posting or something like this. I am not trying to find a job using alibaba. All I need are advices from experienced persons.

hi
Would you mind advices from inexperience persons?![]()
If not, I will suggest why not start your own business in Russia by importing from China?
Good luck
hi, i entered into work since last summer, i think u have much more working experience than me,
1. Being goal-oriented :
u work for interest or money only? Scope of work ?
2. After u know ur goal, take real and firm steps one by one la. Hunters will smell talents and find u out.
3. Be modest , i want to tell u green horn can grow up quickly to survive challenges of work o.
Dont be too complacent, plus, must be confident.
Good pay work put high requirements on u and hard task for u to do.
4. Try to call company u find on job web, and they may have face to face talk with u, at least work for chance to send to human resources.
5. If u like to live in China, not too bad to find ordinary work to start with o. And then greater leaps.
6. En, good luck. Never too late to learn. Plan within ur ability. If too many persons in our profession, dont plan too high in the beginning, or u would deflate urself.
Call company now for interview !![]()

Undoubtedly you are a great man. the only thing i ca't understand is: why don't you employ yourself?
If I were you, i am sure i 've already set up a small company and work for myself.
Since you are quite familiar with Asia , especially China, you must know how to build your kingdom.
From your words, I see you can be a good boss. and you need the action to finish your career. Trust yourself, you are the hero.
Looking forward to your success.
Frankly speaking, I was seriously thinking about strating my own business based on importing from China. But even when you start small firm it needs some investments for renting an office and making some advertisement. Because of the world crisis banks in Russia became, let's say, a little bit crazy. Average interest rate now is around 24 - 26% and even higher. I can't imagine what business can give me enough margin to pay this interest, especially when business is quite young and have less clients.
Anyway, thank Hai ying [CN] very much for this advise.Maybe someday I will come back to this idea.
Best regards,
Maxim.

It seems that nobody except jyfydl [CN] can give the advice on how to build career in China :-( Does this mean that it's impossible? I can't beleive in that.
