PayPal is a good and reputable company.
Many cheats have used it in the past to order product and then say to PayPal that the company did not supply, or that the company was a fraud.
As a seller, if you want to use PayPal:
Be 100% open and above board with your product description. If PayPal thinks you are cheating the customer, they will close your account and freeze all the funds in it for at least 6 months. This also applies if you fail to notice or follow their terms of use.
Do NOT exchange any form of currency with persons wanting to trade egold or money bookers for example for paypal dollars - they will only charge back months from now.
Do not sell any form of multi level marketing product. Amway, or vitamin companies for example.
There is a long list of prohibited items on the site. Make sure to read them.
PayPal is not available to merchants in all countries. Check the list for your country.
Do not leave your funds to sit at PayPal. If they decide to close your account, have little funds that will be frozen. It is a good idea to transfer funds to your bank at least once per week.
There is a minimum 5 day period for funds to transfer to your financial instituttion.
You must verify your PayPal business account with a financial institution and a valid credit card.
With PayPal you can accept credit card payments, PayPal to PayPal payments and electronic check payments.
If your buyers want to pay by electronic check, PayPal will hold the funds for up to 10 days to make sure it clears. Don't ship the goods til the check is clear.
Use the same caution you would with any buyer - avoid what is obviously not legitimate.
Most outright scams have discovered it is too hard to use PayPal anymore. There is too much verification required in opening an account.
Honest business people should not have a problem with PayPal. Read the terms of use, and adhere to them. Their seal can give you instant credibility in the mind of customer, which is always a help.
To open an account, you will first check your country to find if you can have an account.
Go to paypal.com look for the button that says business account.
From there you will follow the prompts, providing the information in each window.
The process including verification will take approximately one week.
I hope this is helpful.
Yeah, helpful! Thanks for your kind reply! I appreciate it! Wish you have a fruitful year 2009!
All the best,
