In about 1-2 moths I will (have to) open a little e-shop and due to a small budget (~$2 500) I would like to sell memory cards and/or flash drives.


The problem is, whoever I write to, everything here looks like a scam. :( When I search for "usb flash", for example and even filter out the suppliers with Trust Pass, still their websites look like made-in-an-hour or automatically generated, their names are either Bobby Bobby, Bruce Lee or something else that's so ridiculous I wonder anyone contacts them and their "professional" e-mail accounts are... on MSN or Yahoo O_o


So please can anyone give me some names or at least one name of one reliable (or existing, for that matter) memory cards/flash drives supplier? Is here actually any supplier that can and does manufacture ORIGINAL Kingston or SanDIsk products and sellt them for a good price (not $1 + 50 pcs for free if I order 100 pcs, though)?


I've contacted some certified Kingston and SanDIsk resellers from my country but no one wants to give me at least one price so I can make any basic calculations unless I already have an existing company which, as previously mentioned, isn't the case. :(


I will sell in Poland so if you're anywhere else - please tell me, is there any honest company on Alibaba, i won't be any competition for you anyway. It would be best if the supplier would be from the European Union, but worldwide sellers/manufacturers are also very welcome.

Simple ansnswer!!! Until you establish yourself as a legitmate business with a credit line, no legitimate supplier is going to give you a price quote.  With the ever changing price scheme within the electronics field any price quote is not ont you can count on longer than 15 days and in most cases these prices change every 5 business days based on supply and demand.

I know that the prices on this market change pretty fast, but in order to get additional resources for starting a business, I have to provide at least an example of whether it can be profitable or not, until then I simply can't afford opening any business based only on hope that it will bring profits.


If you say there is no legitimate supplier that would want to give me one number, does it mean that [u]everyone[/u] here that does it, is a scammer? :(


I was hoping this is the only place where one can really have a chance to [u]start[/u] something and within those hundreds or thousands "suppliers" here at least some really are existing companies...


BTW, does the "Trust Pass" really mean something? For example, I've found this company:

Apparently, they have the Trust Pass for a 2nd year now and can give me a price. Do you think this is also a cheat? :(

Meanwhile, I've figured it out myself, contacted official local distributors and found a real certified supplier. :)


Yep, this site is indeed A if not THEE world largest... no, not trade site but scam site. :( To not post empty arguments:

1. There are a couple of real and honest members, but if from 10 000 people 10 are good, the whole group can be called bad.

2. Alibaba doesn't even reply to complaint mails incl. proof of fraudulent companies.

3. "Trust Pass" is and I wonder why Alibaba is still allowed to run if they give out false information about "valid/trusted" members which turn out to be cheaters.


So good luck to everyone here, you're really gonna need it to find the couple of needles in a haystack. I prefer playing lottery - it gives me a way better chance to gain some money and makes me lose way less. :P

Did you find a reliable supplier of usb drives?  I am also sailing in the same boat as you are. Please share the name of the company if you found?

Since you're from the US, they won't ship to you anyway. It's one of the authorized Kingston distributors. Go to the Kingston website and simply check for authorized distributors in your area :)

It is good that you have now realized that you need to deal with legitimate suppliers from the brand name distribution chain back home. You cannot bypass the distribution chain and try to buy direct in Asia yourself. That is not possible.

It is true that Alibaba Trust Pass titles are misleading as they would suggest that Alibaba has perhaps verified the supplier and that the supplier is therefore more trustworthy than a supplier without Trustp *. The reality however is that Trustpass at Alibaba essentially means paid member. It does not mean that the supplier with that title can be trusted necessarily.

I think you are confused about Alibaba in general though. The reason that you found so many scammers is that the product you were trying to buy i.e. brand name products, are not available to you from Asia. So no legitimate seller would offer those products nor get involved with customers that wanted those products. So by searching for product that is not legitinately available you unintentionally placed yourself at the mercy of scammers.

If you stick with legit products then you will find that most suppliers here at alibaba are legit.
