Seeing is believing.
Try to visit your supplier and then place a small order, then increase your quantity gradually.
Chinese manufacturer also have worry in dealing with individual importer.
For initial deal, importer choose scaled size company with their own company webpage, not only b2b website. Company page with full catalog. I dont think big company quotes quite highly.
For exporter, use T/T in deal, insists on.
Small company can also be trustworthy in quality and delivery time, how to say, this is business, which risk may accompany.
Deal with small company which are premium golden member.
If u get scammed, u can report to ALibaba, after verification, ALibaba would see to it and cancel their membership. Even small factory wont be that silly to cheat money once and for all.
Keep contact with salesperson, even call them. Cautious guy will find sth out and make conclusion.

I think the reason of you did not get a reliable supplier is that you do not believe others , the suppliers may think that you are a bilker while you think the suppliers is a bilker , we have so many these experiences , infact that we think it will be our responsibility if the buyer show us their honest to us , we'd like to try our best to service for them .

As i have read all over Alibaba forums, the GOLD SUPPLIER is not enough for trusting to making a Deal.
So What was the security measures you took to make your first succesfull overseas purchsing!! ???

If you have to buy from china, use Escrow. You get the products, inspect them and make dure you are happy withem before the money is released to them. If they say no to Escrow, they are thieves.
Do not even fall for paypal. Paypal is one of the biggest thieves in this game. The only items paypal insures are items bought off ebay. You pay though paypal and the thieves can send you anthing they want and paypal will tell you thats not their problem.
To be on the best side, avoid china all together.
I think it's better to visit the company first.If you really want to find a long cooperation company,it's worthy.
