why did you spend so much effort
99.9% of demands from benin, nigeria are fake . even if they come from governments you are not garanteed, these are the most corrupt countries on earth. my advise is if they weant to buy from you offer to pay their trip and once they pay you the money you let go of the goods
.make sure you havce it in your account then they can leave with the merchandise; thats the only way i will do business with them
Your ignorance is just overwhelming!
I am Nigerian and i have done sincere business with people all over the world. The chinese can be just as fraudulent, I have been scammed by a chinese bridal factory in the past and i have heard and read similar complaints about various chinese bridal factories but that doesnt mean all chinese people are bad!
Many people have had bad bad experiences with the chinese in the past but they still keep thier minds open. If you cant have an open mind then have a closed mouth!!!
Hi Chen,
I think you were actaually over zealous about discovering a scammer from Nigeria. I am Nigerian and I live in the United Kingdom. All that you quoted that this so called scammer indicated in his/her letter to you are actually correct. At the moment the Nigerian Embassy in China has to Authenticate those documents from China. We can't read chinese, what if the documents sent do not even belong to the company or individual who claims to be the manufacturer, or worse still they might not even be registration papers etc.
At the moment I am in the process of registering a product with NAFDAC and all that the individual quoted are things that I have had to go through. The documents to be authenticated in China will cost me about US$220.00 AND i AM PAYING FOR IT TO BE DONE IN CHINA.
This cost information was supplied by the company I am dealing with in China. I will recover the cost though when we place our first order.
There is a NAFDAC registration fee and again I am paying for that, it varies depending on the product category. I am paying about $1750.00 plus or minus depending on the exchange rate used. It covers laboratory analysis costs etc.
A letter of invitation, written to invite an official of the importing company is also required by NAFDAC, The importer is expected to visit the foreign firm to see that they have the setup they claim to have if that importer really wants to put that exporters products on the Nigerian market. The reason being that we have crooks on both sides.
We are an emerging market and are still trying to find our way around these regulations and information you find on the web will not always be complete.
Living in the UK i visited the NAFDAC site and the information collected from the NAFDAC office is different from what was on their website.
There is also a registration with the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry Required I think . This involves registering the brand name you intend to use in Nigeria.
What I have outlined here is sketchy, however I can write a more detailed report if you want, so we can properly inform people.
I am willing to help authenticate infomation about scams out of Nigeria, If you are willing to check them out first.
Kind regards
