I can only speak from my own personal experience with TradeTang and I will relate my story for your evaluation:
Back in july of this year, I purchased 2 electric guitars that I was led to believe were American made guitars. To make a long story short, I was scammed - bigtime. the seller, wanglaoj117 (a.k.a. Fechang Li) showed photos of a Ventures model Mosrite and a Rickenbacker 370-12 string guitars - that is not what I actually received. I received counterfeit fakes. The same exact photos of the exact same guitars are also shown on DH Gate.
Either the sellers are living together or they are both using the same bogus warehouse dealing in counterfeit merchandise. Here is what I learned:
1. Before making any purchase, check to see if the seller has a hardline telephone and call it. Cell phones are not tracceable in China.
2. Make sure the seller has a brick and mortar address and is not operating out of a remote warehouse (see item 1 above).
3. Do not use Western Union to make payments - they are an excellent money transfer service but do not offer consumer protection should you elect to go for a refund.
4. Paypal is a service they also ofer but PayPal will not protect you outside of e-bay.
5. Use a credit card or PayPal  dedicated solely for this purpose with set limits you are comfortable cannot be exceeded and be preparred not to spend more than you can afford to lose.
6.Do not base your purchase on pictures alone, ask to see photos of the actual merchandise thay will be sending - if they balk - you walk.
7. Fake guitars will not have serial numbers or owners manuals that can be verified with the manufacturer.
8. Fake guitars will not have a country of origin stamp or certification papers.
9. If you elect to take a refund, be aware that their offer will be substantially less than your total purchase order amount - the remainder probably went to pay for your "Free Shipping". If you accept the refund, you will be obligated to return the merchandise at your expense - the amount this costs you may easily exceed the refund offered.
10. You will not be able to resell counterfeit merchandise on e-bay - they will suspend your selling privileges.
Bottom line - when in doubt - go without. Beware of scammers on both sites.
