Has anyone tried using DHgate.com. They provide a escrow service on their site to protect your money. You get the product and they then pay for you. They also deal with seller in case they screw up. I tried them a it worked

I found the site yesterday, even though i have not ordered yet it really does seem like a more trustworthy way of dealing with the chinese companies.Also you can pay with credit cards or paypal so it is more reassuring to know.

Some of the prices are too high to be considered as true "trade" prices.
Personally I would prefer to know who the supplier was and deal direct, or not, (depending on my judgement). As I have never heard of dhgate before reading this post, they are just another link in the chain rather than someone I could trust to be on my side if things went wrong. I have not signed up for the site and I do not plan to but it looks to me as though all dhgate do for each transaction is to take the payment as well as take a percentage.
If you type dhgate.com into your browser rather than www.dhgate.com the site will not be found. This is a sign that the organisation has not set up their web site well.

Replying to [newdog]: hello you guy, I have using the service at DHGate website, that buy direct from china. I pay for two phone, one is nokia 8800 sorocco edition, and one is D&G motorola v3i
when they send me, the nokia is fake, the inside the interface is nokia 8800, and they put the cover of the nokia 8800 sorocco, if people don't know and never using this they may not know the different until some one tell them. and the D&G they send me the fake one also. Now I have doing the dispute with them, but nothing going on, all they can say if be patient. you know what I spend 800 dollars on this, and I don't think that they will return, paypal is not help you any thing at all, trust me I call paypal to deal with this, you know what paypal say, all they say is sorry, and they say there agreement is not cover for you if you are not purchase the product from ebay. so you see I have doing every thing now, I contact the scam international web site to report this, and I do every thing I can to help my self and also to protect other from being scam by this company. The company is in china, and the customer service is not speak english at all, all they say yes yes yes. You may call them up and you will know. go to their website, and go down to contact, they will provide their phone number for you to contact hihih it will be funny if you talk to them. by the way, they have set up fake seller, and when you order if the seller is not response right, then they will pretend that seller, to sell the item to you, and then done, when you received the item, you can't return, because the shipping reciept is written in chinese, and you call them for the return, they don't even give you the address, they will say their seller is not response. so they will refund partial money for you, don't be happy guess how much they offer. I pay 554, they offer me for 35 bucks. well if any of you guy want to know how stress and depress when I have to deal with this company, email me, I will let you know. it crazy and even now i still didn't get my money back. they understood the system of paypal, and they scam you guy by saying they have using the escrow. if you do more research you will find out any thing buy escrow is not safe at all. so my advice to all you guy is don't pay. one again if you don't trust me, one you pay you will know what I am say. ok thank you all for sharing my experience with DHGate.com

Hi,
Here is my experience with this company...
I made a payment of $595 to DHgate on the 7th of July for a sample sirocco 8800 mobile phone. However after I saw that after 5 days my payment was not processed I contacted them concerning my payment. The reply I received was that my payment 'is a suspicious payment and is being investigated'. After I replied to them stating that I'm a verified member with a confirmed address I did not receive any reply from them for a couple of days. When I said that I will open a dispute with paypal they replied that they apologize and the are in the process of refunding my payment. However its been 10 days now since I made the payment and I haven't received any refund. I escalated my dispute with paypal and need to wait for their reply till the 29 of July.
I want to take this matter further because they clearly stolen my money. I haven't receive any item or any explanation for their behavior.
If anyone can advise me with this would be more than helpful.
