It is GLOBAL WARNING!!!!!!! not just Global Warming.

Millions in coastal areas will be at risk due to sea level rises.
Glacial retreat(Melt down) in Himalayas will effect billions.

All due to global warming.
What else?
20-30% species will be extinct by 2 degrees celsius rise above average tempperatures of 1980s and 1990s.
Wheat , Maize and Rice production in India and China will drop drastically.Over a billion poeple will face fresh water shortages by 2050
Upto 250 million in Africa may face water scarcity by 2020

The UN climate panel on friday issued the strakest warning yet about the impact of global warming, based on studies of 2500 scientists world wide.More than 100 countries agreed it's time to act.

This is captioned news on Economic Times daily,New Delhi, 7th April.
Enough to cause alarm, May be, it is time to awake and act.

   the one who emits more has to pay for the countreis which are growing forest and minimiseing this: this is called carbon credit

Hi Sixer,

we were already talking about this important subject somewhere else (in "soil erosion"?), and the bottom line is that you can only watch out for yourself. Of course you can "preach" with the example, but first you'll have to find and apply water harvesting and recycling practices yourself. No government will _really_ help you!

Even here in the "Chihuahua Desert" we receive close to 500mm of rain per year on an average, so it's easy to see that only bad water management is the culprit for its shortage. And no government agency will ever correct that.

A good post to this forum should of course always include a solution, a conclusion, but this time I declare myself "incompetent".

Replying to [curdrice]:Dear Curdrice, you are right. More than 100 countries have agreed to take corrective steps.
Elsewhere, I read in newspaper that US and China, two major contributors are also makng some effeors.Though US will remain and contribute outside Kyoto treaty.
