There are so many television movies, serials, thrillers and melodramas, including action movies.

But there are only a few that can be rated as 'classics' and one of them is PEYTON PLACE which has been rated 75% as the best classic serial running from 1964 - 1964. It has revised version as the Return of Peyton Place.

See website: http://www.tv.com/peyton-place/show/6169/summary.html

Another serial movie over television where we can pick up good English and language of lawyers is "The Practice".

he Practice originally focuses on the law firm of Donnell and Associates (which eventually becomes Donnell, Young, Dole and Frutt, and finally Young, Frutt and Berluti), featuring the firm's involvement in a number of high-profile criminal and civil cases that often mirror events unfolding in the real world. There are a number of crossovers with other David E. Kelley shows, including Boston Public, Ally McBeal and the short-lived medical drama Gideon's Crossing, but The Practice is overall one of David E. Kelley's more serious shows, lacking the comedic elements of McBeal, Legal and others.

If you denote personal or attitudal to movies or the like then thats useful. Anything you want to get needs your personal attention.

So if you pay your personal attention to movies, you can learn a lot form there!

You can find reviews of "Friends" TV series at http://www.helium.com/tm/257649/review-funny-funny-funny

I have watched some of the episodes and find the storyline original and clever and the dialogues witty and at times hilarious. This is one of the video clips in the earlier weblink I mentioned. You watch the videoclip in You Tube then question exercises are given to test your understanding of the story and dialogues.

Replying to [AlexWang]:Dear alex
Something that worked well for me when learning French was to do what you plan to do watch movies or play.
In my case I went to my local library, where they have a big selection of DVD's. However I rented only the ones with had both languages English and French. So what I did first was to see it in English, so I could understand the whole story. next I saw the movie but in French, so i could understand the usage of the expressions, because in English it was said differently, I mean using different wording. I did that for a couple of months and I was able to use the french expression in the appropiate context more easily.
Give it a shot, mayb eit also works for you.
