For myself it is excellent.  It also helps if your products and or services are in high demand.  Making yourself highly visible along all free advertising modes is beneficial to your company.

What was it, & how he can do it.

Dear Golddigger
I have not done that, but I believe if you sign up for free banner publications or else, they will bombard you with lots of commercial ads to your e-mail. I don't know if that would be OK to you.
What I prefer instead is to write topics I am very familiar with on different forums. The benefits from doing that is not the points that come with it but the fact that when doing Google search on your company name, the link to that topic will appear. I use those links heavily when converying references to the potential sellers I am dealing with. When you are seen as an expert on some field your credibility grows and you are in a better position to negoctiate good terms with that seller. Another inexpensive approach, and this one was found here in ali baba, and I liked it a lot, is to host some seminars in your local market, where you coudl inform the audience of the benefits of the products you sell, even give them at cost for them to try it. Words of mouth is a very strong marketing tip which could improve your sales.

Replying to [golddigger]: Free advertising is always good. For beginners it is not easy to spend money on a big advertisement. I found Alibala a good place. I got replies from buyers, though everything did not materialize but still i can understand the demand for my product in the world market.
